As home to some of the best farms in the nation and with dozens of farms in Boulder alone, it can be hard to decide which farms to tour – or even how to go about setting up a farm tour on your own. The good news is that you don’t have to figure it out alone, thanks to Boulder County Farm Tours. Here’s what you need to know:
- The Boulder County Farm Tours will be held on August 13, 2017.
- You can purchase tickets here, and each ticket is good for one person and one tour.
- There are over a dozen participating farms so far, with more to be added as August 13 approaches.
- You can visit multiple farms, and since they’re all in Boulder County, even the furthest farms are a short drive (or bike) away.
- The tours are kid friendly and some participating farms offer special activities for children to enjoy.
- Plan to bring a cooler if you’re interested in purchasing any farm-fresh treats.
- While parking is available at the farms in designated areas, this afternoon-through-early evening-event is the perfect time to bike from farm to farm. After all, many of the farms are only minutes away from each other.
- Most farms will have three tour times on Sunday. The tours at each farm usually start around 3:00 p.m. and conclude with a 5:00 p.m. tour. This allows groups an hour or more for each time slot (approximately 3:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m., though each farm sets their own tour times).
Whether you’re interested in winery tours and learning about the challenges of backyard viticulture on Colorado’s Front Range or touring a century old farmstead, there’s a farm for every sensibility thanks to Boulder County Farm Tours’.
