
Summer presents the perfect opportunity to get out and explore Boulder. Our town is full of talented musicians, athletes, and artists eager to share their time and talents. Try something new and expand your horizons with an abstract painting class and you may come to find there was a painter inside of you, all along.
Meet the Artist
Kelly Degnan is a longtime resident of Boulder who has been making art her whole life. Her colorful, lively paintings are influenced mainly by Abstract Expressionism and have found homes in both private and corporate collections. Kelly currently works from her studio in Boulder, Colorado, creating vibrant pieces of abstract art that garner praise from her devoted following.
If you’ve ever been curious about abstract painting or inclined to try it yourself, Kelly is offering summer workshops that teach guests everything they need to know. Spend the day learning about colors, tools, concepts, and styles while creating your own abstract art.
When and Where
Classes are held on 6/15, 6/27 and 8/3, and run from 10 am – 6 pm. Materials are provided but guests may choose to bring their own canvas, paints, or brushes if they have a particular preference. What to Expect
During each workshop, Kelly will share tips and techniques that she has been cultivating over her 20 year painting career. Students will explore the boundaries of abstract art, learn about color palettes, and utilize various mediums to achieve their desired texture, color, and look.
Family-style lunch is provided, as well as happy hour wine and snacks. Not only are these workshops a great way to expand your art skills, but they are also a fantastic way to meet interesting people and make new friends. Students will leave the class with a new perspective on this art form and a completed piece to hang on the wall at home!
Kelly’s workshops are a fun, inclusive way to become acquainted with or expand your knowledge of abstract art. Her passion is contagious and her skill and teaching ability are impeccable.
