Summertime is for getting together with friends and family, and being out in the community. We are fortunate to live in a town that offers a range of fun events for your whole crew. Here’s a recap of what we’re most looking forward to in July:
First Friday Art Walk in Louisville
When: July 1, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Where: Downtown Louisville, Colorado
On Friday, July 1, join the city of Louisville at its First Friday Art Walk in historic downtown. Stroll at your own pace, following the yellow balloons marking the 20+ participating shops, galleries, and restaurants. Stop in to the Louisville Historical Museum on your way, which opens its doors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. during First Friday for special presentations on the city’s history. You’re sure to leave feeling inspired to create your own masterpiece!
Boulder Art & Jazz Festival
When: July 2-July 4, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Saturday), 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Sunday), 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday)
Where: Central Park Bandshell –Downtown Boulder
This Fourth of July weekend, bring the family to the fourth annual Boulder Art & Jazz Festival and enjoy live jazz, rock, bluegrass, and world music while perusing handmade arts and crafts from over 100 of Colorado’s talented artisans. Cool down with a local brew at the beer garden while your kids enjoy the kids’ play area, bouncy castles, face painting, and more kid-friendly activities. Finally, stop by the Boulder Farmers’ Market before you leave (located in the same area), and stock up on fresh produce.
Boulder 4th of July
When: July 4, gates open at 8:00 p.m., fireworks begin around 9:40 p.m.
Where: Folsom Field on the University of Colorado Boulder campus
We’d be remiss not to mention the beloved annual Ralphie’s Independence Day Blast, where thousands gather at Folsom Field on the University of Colorado Boulder campus for the best fireworks show in town! Free public parking is available on campus, but we recommend taking one of the free shuttles to avoid getting stuck in traffic (and risk missing the fireworks!).
Bands on the Bricks
When: July 6, July 13, July 20, July 27 5:30 p.m. (additional dates in August)
Where: Pearl Street Mall
If you haven’t yet made it out to a free Bands on the Bricks concert at the Pearl Street Mall this summer, there’s a full lineup in July to check out. On July 6, Colorado’s salsa band Quemando will bring the heat, followed by jam-grass/Americana band Wandering Natives. Ska/reggae group Judge Roughneck plays on July 20, and PJ Zahn, funky soul and rock ‘n roll artist, rounds out the month on July 27. When you get thirsty, an outdoor beer/wine/margarita garden will be serving up delicious Rio margaritas and beer from Avery Brewing!
Louisville Street Faire
When: July 8, July 15, July 22, July 29, 5:00-10:00 p.m.
Where: Downtown Louisville, Colorado
Head to downtown Louisville most Fridays in July for free, family-friendly outdoor concerts featuring:
- Jazz artists, Nathan & the Zydeco Cha Chas on July 8
- Singer-guitarist Samantha Fish on July 15
- Celtic roots-rock group The Elders on July 22
- Crowd pleasers Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers on July 29
Nosh on goodies from local eateries and dance the night away under the stars.
Tube to Work Day
When: July 15, 8:00 a.m.
Where: Eben G. Fine Park
Here’s something you don’t see every day: hundreds of business-casual clad Boulderites floating down Boulder Creek on their way to work. Well, that’s what happens every year on Tube to Work Day. Even if you won’t be partaking in this unique form of alternative transportation, we recommend finding a spot alongside Boulder Creek to watch the tubers cruise by.
Rocky Mountain Tea Festival
When: July 30-31
Where: Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse
Celebrate all things tea at the 16th annual Rocky Mountain Tea Festival. Activities include seminars from tea experts from around the country, a Children’s Teddy Bear tea party, and popular Saturday night tea dinner. You can also sample teas from around the world at the Tea Bazaar. If you’ve always wanted to learn more about tea and connect one-on-one with leaders in the industry, this is the event for you!
