April Events in Boulder, Colorado

Spring is finally here – at least until the next snowfall.  April features a fantastic variety of events, ranging form Easter brunches to stand-up comedy shows.  With the weather warming up and the days getting longer, most of us are itching to go out and have some fun.  Lucky for us, we live in a town that delivers constant entertainment.

Easter

Easter Brunch Buffet at Hotel Boulderado

Each year, the Boulderado hosts an elegant, yet family friendly Easter brunch.  This year’s salacious menu is laden with dishes both savory and sweet.

Leg of lamb and apricot-glazed bone-in ham will certainly knock any meat lover off their feet, while the sweet potato & chive cakes, garlic roasted green beans, and pastries will have vegetarians near and far stepping back in line for seconds, if not thirds.

Traditional breakfast items, including waffles prepared to order, will thrill even the pickiest of brunch goers.  The cost per adult is $52, and $25 for children between the ages of 4 and 10.  Any kiddos under 4 can eat for free!

The St Julien Hotel & Spa will also be hosting a brunch on Easter Sunday.  In true St Julien style, the buffet will be overflowing with delicious, locally sourced items.  We can only imagine what they have in store.  One thing’s for certain, it will be spectacular.  The price for adults is $54.95, and $19.95 per child.  Make your reservations sooner rather than later, because this brunch is likely to fill up.

Arts & Entertainment

Stephen “RAGGA” Marley

Five-time Grammy winner, and son of the legendary Bob Marley, will make a one-night appearance this month at Boulder’s very own Fox Theatre.  His reggae-rock musical style echoes that of his father’s, while incorporating a more modern-politico approach.  On April 30th, he will be debuting his newest solo album, “Mind Control.”  Each one of these self-written songs delivers a different story, from romance to slavery.  His rare appearance is not to be missed, so grab your tickets fast, folks.

People Under the Stairs

Based out of Los Angeles California, the duo known better as People Under the Stairs has been recording hip-hop hits since the late 90s.  “The P,” accompanied by Revolutionary Rhythm, will be performing at the Fox on April 19th.  Their unique style has led them to perform sold-out shows across the globe, from the US to Brazil, China, and even Africa.  Tickets are on sale now and are going fast, so get yours while you still can.

Boulder Philharmonic Season Finale: The Pastoral Symphony

Unfortunately, as is always the case, all good things must come to an end.  On Saturday, April 26,  Boulder’s Philharmonic Orchestra will put on their last performance of the year.  Rest assured, it will be an unforgettable one at that.  From Smetana to the Moldau, and on to bluegrass and mandolins, the performance promises to be as eclectic and sensational as Boulder itself.  Ticket prices range anywhere from $13 to $70, and can be purchased through their website, or directly here.

Anthony Jeselnik

If humor is your forte, you’ll be thrilled to know that stand-up comedian Anthony Jeselnik is coming to the Boulder Theater on Sunday, April 27th.

The charming yet raunchy Jeselnik was placed 6th out of 20 in Comedy Central’s “Stand-Up Showdown,” and was even named one of the top “10 Comics to Watch,” in 2008.

Most of you know him best from his appearance on Comedy Central’s roasts of Donald Trump and Charlie Sheen, but he also has is own late night TV show, “The Jeselnik Offensive.”  Grab your tickets before they sell out, because this show will have you laughing from start to finish.

Spring has sprung, and as you can see there is more than enough happening this month in beautiful Boulder.  While we’ve only given you a small sampling of what our lovely town is offering this month, there’s plenty more listed in the Daily Camera.
