The Flatirons take on a dusting of snow, holiday lights illuminate the city, and the citizens of Boulder get out to enjoy the best food and drink the community has to offer. Here are a few picks for can’t-miss events in Boulder this November.
First Bite Boulder
When: November 14-22
Where: Various participating restaurants all over the city
Billed as “A Local Celebration of World Class Dining,” First Bite Boulder highlights the best of Boulder’s vibrant culinary scene. For the duration of First Bite Boulder, more than 50 of the city’s best restaurants will offer three course prix fixe dinner menus for only $27.
Participants include Boulder favorites like Brasserie Ten Ten, Centro Latin Kitchen, and The Boulder Dushanbe Tea House. Check out the event’s website to view all participating restaurants and make your reservations now!
Switch on the Holidays
When: Sunday, November 23rd at 5:00p.m.
Where: On the Pearl Street Mall in front of the Courthouse
Ring in the Holiday season in Boulder with Santa himself at this family-friendly annual event. Santa does a special countdown as the Boulder County Courthouse and Pearl Street Mall are illuminated in vibrant Holiday lights. The evening also includes special holiday entertainment, like a performance from the Boulder Chorale. Stick around for free visits with Santa as well.
Winter Sidewalk Sale
When: November 28th-30th
Where: Participating local retailers and restaurants in downtown Boulder
This winter sidewalk sale is a great opportunity to get some of your Holiday shopping done while supporting local stores and artisans. Small business Saturday is teaming up with the Winter Sidewalk Sale to offer discounts and incentives to Boulder residents for spending their dollars locally. Avoid the Black Friday madness and find gifts for all of your family and friends right here in Boulder.
Past participants have included Full Cycle, Seamless Toy Company, and Boulder Furniture Arts. Many restaurants and coffee shops have gotten in on the action as well, so you can enjoy a meal or beverage at a discounted price while shopping. Figures in Flux: Hybrid Collages by artist Livia Stein
When: October 31st-November 29th
Where: 15th Street Studio (1708 15th Street)
Get your art fix in November with this special exhibit at Boulder’s 15th Street Studio. California artist Livia Stein will be sharing her art with Boulder residents for the entire month. Her collaged creations include life-sized, mixed-media figures with the heads of both humans and animals. The entire studio will be decked out in these figures, which seem to practically jump off the wall. Her work is edgy yet lighthearted and fun, the perfect compliment to the creative environment of the 15th Street Studio.
