If you’re a Parks and Recreation fan, you’re probably familiar with Leslie Knope’s iconic invention: Galentine’s Day! As you may have guessed, Galentine’s Day is a “holiday” designed for gal pals to spend quality time together (and if you’re like Leslie’s crew, enjoy brunch). If you like this idea and want to show your best girlfriends some love this February 13th, there are plenty of ways to celebrate in Boulder. Here are some of my recommendations for a fun Galentine’s Day in our city:
Book the Taverna Room at Frasca Food and Wine
Galentine’s Day can be as elevated as you’d like! If your group would like to enjoy the famed Italian cuisine from Frasca Food and Wine, consider booking the restaurant’s Taverna Room. Originally used as the bar, this space was redesigned in 2013 and offers an exquisite setting for intimate gatherings. The Taverna Room seats 25, so it’s perfect for a party with your closest friends.
Enjoy a Cooking Class at Food Lab
We’re fortunate to have Food Lab in our community. This incredible culinary school offers a great selection of classes, and there are some wonderful options on the schedule this year. If you’re looking for a fun and out-of-the-box way to bond with girlfriends, a class at Food Lab is an excellent choice. There are several Valentine’s themed options to choose from, including A Food Lab Valentine’s, Valentine’s in Bordeaux, and Valentine’s Tapas. Book soon to reserve your spots!
Indulge in Brunch at Centro Mexican Kitchen
Brunch with the girls is what started the tradition of Galentine’s Day. If you want to give a nod to the origins of this “holiday”, there are plenty of wonderful destinations for brunch in Boulder. For a flavorful and fun experience, stop by Centro Mexican Kitchen. This restaurant offers a plethora of delicious menu options, including build-your-own taco boards, fresh margaritas, and tequila flights.
Reserve the Sangha Room at the Dragontree Spa
The legendary Dragontree Spa in Boulder is the ideal destination for pampering. If your group could use some time for R&R, reserve spots in the spa’s prestigious Sangha Room. This community space is designed for guests to achieve optimal wellness and relaxation in the company of loved ones. In this iconic area of the spa, guests can enjoy foot, hand, and head treatments and as they let worries melt away.
This Galentine’s Day, I hope you and the special ladies in your life will take time for yourselves to bond and enjoy all that our city offers. The ideas mentioned here are a few of my favorites, but there’s no shortage of options to make your day together one to remember.
