Bluebird Music Festival
When: 9/25 & 26, various times
CU Boulder College of Music and Macky Auditorium are excited to present this two-day, much needed music festival. This year, Bluebird Music Festival will host four separate events – two evening events and two afternoon ones titled “Strings & Stories”. Eleven different performers are coming to Boulder, including City and Colour and “phoffman” of Greensky Bluegrass. For those who have been sorely missing live music, get your tickets now to this epic two-day festival.
Honor Reading Choir 2021
When: 10/4, 3pm
Witness the awe-inspiring annual Honor Reading Choir performance in which high school choral singers of all backgrounds come together. During the afternoon of October 9th, top choral students will sing new works for a captivated audience. These students have been rehearsing, practicing sight reading, and working together to create a vocal ensemble like no other.
Cirque Mechanics
When: 10/9, 7:30pm
Last season saw a sold-out performance of Cirque Mechanics and this year is set to be no different. This dynamic and athletic group is bringing a spectacular performance called “Birdhouse Factory”, which showcases the hilarious and quirky daily life of workers at a widget factory. Actors, performances, and even contortionists create a captivating world of wonder and awe, all on stage at the Macky.
La Traviata: An Italian Opera
When: 10/22 – 24, showtimes vary
You don’t need to travel to Rome to experience breathtaking and emotional operas. Boulder locals can bike over to Macky and witness the talented, multi-lingual opera singers at CU’s College of Music pour their hearts and souls out on stage. La Traviata, an opera by Verdi, is both moving and thought provoking, even if you don’t speak Italian. Allow your ears to absorb the soprano and baritone voices that tell this tale of two fated lovers.
