
The Boulder community is fortunate to have Food Lab right here on Pearl Street. For those of you who aren’t yet familiar with Food Lab, this culinary school is dedicated to providing fun, educational cooking courses for all ages. Whether you’re looking for a date night idea or an introductory class to enjoy with your family, you’ll find it at Food Lab. Here’s a look at what’s coming up on the calendar:
January 24: Plant-Based Sichuan
If you’re diary-free and/or vegan, the plant-based Sichuan class on January 24 at 6:30 pm is an event you won’t want to miss. You may be amazed to participate in the transformation of simple ingredients into Chinese cuisine that’s bursting with complex flavors. During this three-hour class, you’ll work your way through five incredible recipes, including sweet and sour shiitake mushrooms, Sichuan chili tofu, spicy buckwheat noodles, stir-fried choy sum, and smoky eggplant with garlic.
January 26: Taco Party
Who doesn’t love tacos?! Join the crew at Food Lab for Taco Party on Wednesday, January 26, where you’ll learn how to prepare fresh tacos for an easy weeknight meal or a more festive occasion. The menu will feature baja fish tacos with chipotle crema, three chili chicken tacos, white bean and vegetable tacos, fresh tomato and herb salsa, and curtido.
February 1: Pho
Whether you’re a pho enthusiast or have always wanted to try this comforting Vietnamese soup, the pho class at Food Lab is the perfect opportunity to explore how it’s made. The pho class on February 1 is sure to bring some warmth to a chilly evening, as you’ll be preparing a hearty chicken-based broth and comforting accouterments.
February 10: Fondue
Looking for an out-of-the-box date night for Valentine’s Day? The fondue class is an excellent opportunity to learn a new skill with your loved one and enjoy the incredible flavors of the evening. Food Lab only offers fondue nights a few times each year, so be sure to book well in advance if you’re interested in attending this class. The classic smokey three-cheese fondue sauce is the main attraction of this course, but everything on the menu is sure to entice the palate.
February 14: Vegan Valentine’s
If you and your partner are plant-based, you’ll love the chance to explore some new recipes during Vegan Valentine’s on February 14 at 6:30 pm. The recipes featured here include saffron arancini with red pepper sauce, sweet potato gnocchi puttanesca, toasted umeboshi cashew, and seasonal greens, roasted carrots, and a harissa vinaigrette.
