Our scenic city is home to a stellar food and wine scene that attracts tourists and entertains locals year-round. While Colorado’s grape growers and winemakers are making a name for themselves throughout the country, we will always hold a bold, rich glass of Burgundy close to our hearts. Each year, the Boulder Burgundy Festival brings exquisite vintages from this appellation right to our front doors, saving us the trip to France. What is the Boulder Burgundy Festival?
The Boulder Burgundy Festival is a wine tasting event that spans four days, offering wine enthusiasts of all preferences the chance to taste rare, stunning glasses of wine. Each year, the event features a renowned wine maker and this year is no different. The Roulot family has been crafting beautiful wines since 1866 and Jean-Marc Roulot has not let the tradition slip. In fact, under his tenure, Domaine Roulot now sells out of Meursault before it makes it to the bottle.
When and Where
The Boulder Burgundy Festival kicks off on 10/31 and continues through 11/3. Multiple events take place throughout the course of this four-day affair at various locations throughout Boulder. Below we share details about the special events that still have space available.
Old and Rare Burgundy Tasting and Silent Auction
When: 10/31, 5:30 – 8:30 pm
Where: Mateo
Join Master Sommeliers Jay Fletcher and Brett Zimmerman as they lead guests through a tasting of old and rare Burgundies. Proceeds will benefit the SommFoundation and Boulder Burgundy Festival NFP. Small bites from legendary Boulder restaurant Mateo will accompany these special wines.
Outer Borough Burgundy: The Satellite Appellations with MW Ashley Hausman
When: 11/1, 11:00 – 12:30 pm
Where: Embassy Suites Hotel
Enjoy a seminar focused on the lesser-known Burgundies from other areas within the legendary region. Luduvine Ambroise from Domaine Ambroise and Laurent Mouton from Domaine Mouton will join Master of Wine Ashley Hausman in leading this interesting class on these one-off appellations.
Winemaker Dinner

Join winemakers Ludivine Ambroise from Domaine Ambroise and Laurent Mouton from Domaine Mouton in an exceptional dinner complete with carefully selected wine pairings. Meet and mingle with two of Burgundy’s best producers.
Domaine Roulot Dinner
When: 11/2, 6:00 pm
Where: Frasca Food and Wine
As the marquee dinner of the festival, this event is sure to blow guests away. Delectable plates from the award winning restaurant pair perfectly with an intricately curated collection of Domaine Roulot wines, hand-selected by the winemaker himself.
Meursault Magic: A Deep Dive with Jean-Marc Roulot

Take an intimate look at the wines of Domaine Roulot with Jean-Marc at this engaging seminar. Participants can learn more about what makes Roulot’s Meursault bottlings so mouthwatering and revered.
Boulder Burgundy Festival Grand Tasting

The crowning jewel of the entire Burgundy extravaganza, this spectacular event will feature over 200 wines from the historic region. Meet the winemakers behind some of the world’s most coveted bottles. Sample, swirl, sip, and repeat, all afternoon.
Wines from the Burgundy region carry a special place in wine enthusiasts’ hearts. They age with grace and elegance, demanding patience from the owner but gifting them a truly individualized experience when the stars align.
