TEDxBoulder took a long hiatus, but is finally returning to the Chautauqua Auditorium this fall. The theme “Then & Now” seeks to examine and unpack ideas and events that have shaped the past and present. This event will surely leave the audience inspired with new ideas, and perhaps even encouraged to tell their own stories. Here’s what you should know about the next TEDxBoulder:
What is TEDxBoulder?
TEDx is a program that spun off from the larger TED company, which began as Technology, Entertainment, and Design conferences in the 80s, but has grown well beyond its initial boundaries. TED talks encompass various topics and invite speakers from every walk of life to present “ideas worth spreading”. TEDx is no different, it’s just hosted locally in cities worldwide by residents who wish to invite community members into different conversations and share inspiring stories.
Meet Courtney Walsh
For the last 14 years, Andrew Hyde has presented and hosted TedXBoulder, but this year, a new face is hitting the scene. Courtney Walsh, a Boulder native, joins the event as a co-host, volunteer coordinator and so much more. This dynamic duo has a vast and varied history in and around Boulder and will prioritize bringing diverse perspectives for this year’s TedXBoulder.
About the Theme
This year’s theme “Then & Now” comes from a three-year break from TedXBoulder events. Since the last TedXBoulder, we’ve experienced unprecedented times that included a global pandemic, economic decline, and an entire paradigm shift in our collective understanding of the fragility of human life and wellbeing. Speakers will share personal experiences that connect the past and present, in relation to our city and their place in it.
Do You Have an Idea Worth Spreading?
TEDxBoudler is looking for speakers from all backgrounds, industries, and experiences. You don’t necessarily have to present an idea or tell a story related to technology, entertainment, or design. You just have to commit to speaking without notes and sharing an idea that fits the theme. This experience just might change your life.
Tickets for TEDxBoulder usually go quickly so don’t hesitate to grab one. We are excited to welcome this incredible community-inspired event back to Boulder. It’s been too long.
