Mark your calendars, folks, because Taste of Pearl is back! On April 13, 2014, taste buds will be singing, bellies will be full, and Boulder will once again demonstrate why it’s the Foodie Capitol of Colorado.
Over the last few years, this culinary explosion has become one of Colorado’s leading attractions. This year, in honor of its 5th anniversary, 15 of Boulder’s most delectable restaurants will each be paired with a different Colorado winery, creating an unforgettable blend of local, palate-pleasing excellence.
Each of the featured wineries will be selling their wines throughout the day, so you’ll be able to take home any bottle you fall in love with. The wineries will even provide check-tags for the bottles you buy, giving you the freedom to pick your purchases up after the tour is over.
This event is not something one can, or should, simply pass up. In the past it has received awards such as the Governor’s Award for Downtown Excellence, as well as a Merit Award from the International Downtown Association.

Taste of Pearl has become so popular, in fact, that they’ve had to limit the number of tickets to 500. Don’t be fooled by that number, however, it has already sold out, like it does every year.
At $75 per ticket, here is what you can anticipate:
– An abundant sampling of food and wine from each participating restaurant and winery;
– A re-usable wine plate (compostable of course, in true Boulder fashion);
– An eco-friendly, re-usable wine carrying bag;
– A wine glass to take home;
– Discounts on featured wines
– Goodies and freebies from local shops
Taste of Pearl isn’t just about sampling fantastic food and drink. Every year, a portion of the proceeds is donated to Boulder’s Emergency Family Assistant Association (EFAA), an organization that brings aide to local residents in need of food, shelter, and financial support.
Many of the restaurants being featured this year are local favorites that many of us visit regularly. Thrown in to the mix are some of Boulder’s most lavish restaurants, like the Flagstaff House Restaurant. For those who have yet to dine at this world-class establishment, Taste of Pearl is an excellent excuse to do so.
Whether you’re a connoisseur of fine food and wine, or simply looking to expand your knowledge of local restaurants, attending this event is a must.
