Banjo Billy’s Ghost Tour
When: Friday, Saturday, and Sundays throughout the month of October

These open air buses are often seen moseying around our city, giving passengers a glimpse at Boulder’s interesting history. Throughout the month of October, Banjo Billy’s offers ghost tours that shine a light onto some of the more haunted aspects of Boulder, Colorado. Take a seat on one of the bus’s comfy couches, saddles, or recliners as you cruise by our city’s spooky locales. Tour guides are well-versed in the mysterious history of the Hotel Boulderado, Montgomery House, and more, so buckle up and keep your eyes peeled, you never know what’s lurking around the corner during a Banjo Billy’s Ghost Tour.
Haunted House at Boulder High School
When: 10/16, 18, 19, 25, 26, 31, 7 – 10 pm
Where: Boulder High School
Join Boulder High’s talented thespian department at its annual and highly-anticipated haunted house. This year’s theme is “Nuclear Apocalypse”, and guests will no doubt get a fright from realistic portrayals of a post-nuclear world. Costumes and set design are always out of this world, even garnering a write-up last year in the Daily Camera. Tickets may be picked up at the door.
Enigma Escape Room Experiences
When: Open Wednesdays through Sundays, various ticket times available
Where: Downtown Boulder
While Enigma’s escape room activities are available year-round, they’re extra fun during the month of October. Plan an alternative Halloween party or festive office gathering with one of Enigma’s interesting, interactive escape rooms. Guests will get a thrill solving riddles and puzzles, eventually making their way out of the mystery 😉
“Ghosted – A Paranormal Mystery” by Arts in the Open
When: Weekends 9/14 – 10/27
Where: Chautauqua Park
This performance, put on by Arts in the Open, involves a paranormal detective and his or her assistant as they search for clues surrounding Colorado’s famous ghost stories. Audience members can help on the quest, participating throughout the performance for a choose-your-own-adventure collaboration. Experience this wonderful, engaging play in the shadow of Boulder’s Flatirons for a memorable Halloween experience.
Exotica Erotic Ball
When: 10/26, 9 pm – 2 am
Where: The Riverside
This hedonistic celebration is Colorado’s longest adult-themed event. Participants are invited to watch dazzling burlesque shows and aerial performances. They can also sign up to compete in the Fantasy Costume Contest, hang out in the sensual lounge, or dance the night away to up-beat music played by rotating DJs throughout the evening. Experience a totally different side of Boulder at this adults-only event.
A Night of Darkness II
When: 10/31, 9 pm – 1:30 am
Where: Corrida
Now in its second year, this luxury Halloween party is one of Boulder’s most-anticipated autumn events. Leave your cameras and phones at home, don your most creative costume, and head over to Corrida to celebrate in style. Champagne will be flowing and guests may sip, snack, and dance all evening long, while taking in some of Boulder’s most scenic views.
