
Fall is on the way, and it’s a beautiful time of year to explore Boulder! This month, there are several exceptional events on the calendar. Here, I share a quick look at what’s on the horizon this September:
Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema
When: 9/4-6
Where: Museum of Boulder
This is the season premiere of the 23rd annual Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema. This exciting festival kickoff takes place September 4–6 and will feature film installations, live performances, and great food and beverages. Films are submitted from around the world, and the screenings are carefully curated by a panel of dance filmmakers. Explore the schedule and get your tickets here. Community Roots Art Festival
When: 9/19-20
Where: Vision Quest Brewing
Boulder is known for its artistic spirit, and the Community Roots Art Festival (CRAFt) showcases the talent of Colorado-based creatives of color. The festival will be held at Vision Quest Brewing, and you can expect a day full of fantastic local art, performances, giveaways, and tasty treats. You won’t want to miss it!
Mapleton Hill Porch Fest
When: 9/20
Where: Mapleton Hill
Mapleton Hill is one of our city’s most iconic neighborhoods. Located just northwest of downtown, this area is a historic fixture in Boulder. On September 20th, you’re invited to stop by and enjoy live music by local performers on the porches of picturesque Victorian homes. Jaipur Literature Festival
When: 9/22-23
Where: Boulder Public Library
Each year, we celebrate the sister festival to India’s well-known Jaipur Literature Festival here in Boulder. From September 22 to 23, the Boulder Public Library is opening its doors to all who want to take part in this festival of ideas and conversation. As always, this gathering is a fantastic example of our city’s curiosity and zest for knowledge.
Boulderthon
When: 9/27
Where: Downtown Boulder
Boulderthon is one of the premier fall events in Colorado. The race has been recognized by Runner’s World, USA Today, Active, and more as one of the top race weekends in the country. Held throughout downtown Boulder, Boulderthon offers options ranging from a full marathon to kids’ races. With visitors from all 50 states and more than 18 countries, it has quickly gained fans worldwide. View the course maps and register here.
