The school year is in full swing, the holidays are just around the corner, and the thermostat begins to dip well below its August highs. Celebrate the arrival of autumn by attending exciting Boulder events taking place throughout the month. Here are our favorites.
Modern Habitat Opening Reception
When: 9/5, 5:00 – 8:00 pm
Where: The Dairy Arts Center
Mingle with fellow arts and theater lovers at one of Boulder’s most celebrated locales. The Dairy Arts Center opens a new exhibit on 9/1 called “Modern Habitat”. These exhibitions showcase works of visual art from architects and designers that seek to explore our modern habitats. Commemorate the start of this new exhibit at The Dairy’s opening reception.
CU Boulder Stampede
When: 9/6, 6:45 – 7:30 pm
Where: 1300 Block of Pearl
Boulder comes alive during CU football games. Residents of all ages don their black and gold, tail-gating outside of the stadium to show school spirit. The CU Boulder Stampede is an iconic way to celebrate game day. The night before each home game, thousands of football fans line the streets of Pearl to watch the Golden Buffalo Marching Band play and take the opportunity to meet players and coaches. The entire ensemble moves west, stopping along each block of the Pearl Street Mall.
Boulder Pridefest 2019
When: 9/8, 11:30 am – 6:30 pm
Where: Central Park
This year’s Pridefest boasts a wealth of activities taking place around Central Park throughout the day. Participants can browse artisan offerings from local vendors, picnic on the lawn, take pictures at the photobooth, and try their luck with games and raffles. Celebrate our diverse and inclusive Boulder community at this lively event.
Berger & Fohr and Jamie Kripke Art Exhibition
When: 9/13, 5:00 – 8:00 pm
Where: 2490 Junction Place
Join the talented artists at Berger & Fohr for an art exhibit that features the stunning photography and work of Jamie Kripke. Kripke’s style is all encompassing, displaying beauty in everyday life. From portraits to landscapes to sports, Kripke’s photos showcase the human condition and its place in the natural environment.
YAW School Day-Off Camp
When: 9/16, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Where: BMoCA
Treat your children to an awesome day off school with the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art’s day camp. This event teaches kids how to illustrate like famous cartoonists. Guests will spend the day learning to sketch, color, and create engaging stories through visual depictions. Make this next day off memorable with the YAW School Day-Off Camp.
The NPR Politics Podcast Live: On the Road to 2020
When: 9/20, Doors open at 7:00 pm
Where: Boulder Theater
The chart topping NPR Politics Podcasts will take the stage at Boulder Theater for a live taping. Join talented, knowledgeable hosts as they discuss and analyze the current political environment and brainstorm future trends. Guests will also get a first-hand look at how this podcast is made and a chance to see their favorite political analysts in action.
