Boulder is home to an incredible art community. For 25 years, we’ve been fortunate to have Open Studios as the largest and most comprehensive visual arts organization in Boulder County. Open Studios offers several programs and projects designed to raise awareness and appreciation of the arts, including its flagship event: Open Studios Tour. This year, the tour is running the first three weekends in October. Interested in taking part in this self-guided tour of the work and studios of Boulder’s artists? Here’s everything you need to know about the 2023 Open Studios Tour:
The Details
Open Studios Tour provides a fantastic opportunity for those who appreciate the arts to get an inside look at various artists’ processes and survey their work. Part of what’s so great about this tour is that it spans Boulder County, so regardless of where you are, chances are good that you’ll be able to find a studio nearby. Artists from Boulder, Erie, Lafayette, Louisville, Longmont, Lyons, and more will be participating. Whether you’re interested in learning more about art practices, purchasing work, or developing relationships with artists, you can do it all at Open Studios Tour. Classes and workshops are also available at certain studios.
If you’d like to join the experience, you have plenty of options! The tour will be held October 7-8, 14-15, and 21-22. The printed tour map and additional information will be available soon, so keep checking in here. If you want to keep even closer tabs, sign up for the patrons mailing list here.
Open Studios is just one of the many organizations that make living in Boulder County great. Although this organization is best known for the annual tour, you won’t want to miss out on additional programming. Open Studios is a wonderful resource for our local art community, and the membership program provides excellent opportunities for artists to hone their skills and promote their work to the public. I’m looking forward to the tour, so be sure to check it out if you’re in the market for new artwork or simply want to experience this special facet of our community.
