Handmade in Colorado Expo
A fine art lover’s paradise, Boulder’s Handmade in Colorado Expo is all about putting local creations in the limelight. Artisans from all over Colorado meet up to show off their skills and exhibit some of the most beautiful contemporary art to hit the scene. With live music and a laid back environment, this is a great place to buy conversation pieces for your home, directly from the source. The festival gets going the weekend of the 3rd & 4th, and is the perfect way to start off October.
Boulder Burgundy Wine Festival
Catering to the wine aficionado in all of us, the Boulder Burgundy Festival is your opportunity to celebrate the finer things in life with some of the top master sommeliers in the industry. I’m so excited to be co-vice president of this awesome event. Come join us October 22 -25 for a week dedicated to wine made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes grown in France’s Burgundy region. With events like the champagne and caviar kickoff party, and the Grand Tasting featuring over 200 wines, you’ll truly feel like French royalty. The best part: proceeds benefit the Growe Foundation.
Month of Modern
Celebrate all things modern and contemporary in home design during Month of Modern’s showcase of Colorado’s top designers and architects. It all starts with Ignite x MoM15, where a group of ten speakers will be asked to present their ideas on how to make Boulder a “Great City.” The Responsible Innovation Panel will create a dialogue on the intersection of design and sustainability. Presenters will contribute to conversations relating to technology’s role in design, and how we can leverage it to maximize environmental awareness in home, auto, and furniture design.
On October 20th, join Month of Modern and Sherwin Williams for the unveiling of the “Official Colors of 2015,” where designers will be asked to pick the hottest new color trends for the year. To culminate the celebration, the Wrap + Awards Party will be full of amazing artwork, great food and drinks, and will honor the standouts from the month’s events. As the Month of Modern’s presenting sponsor, I’m really excited for this year’s festivities. It’s wonderful to be able to partner with such a great series of events, and I’m looking forward to 2015 being even better than last year’s inaugural celebration.
Munchkin Masquerade
A wonderful family event, perfect for the little ones, the Munchkin Masquerade is Boulder’s favorite trick-or-treating afternoon out. Thousands of adorable kids will be dressed up in their Halloween costumes and parading down Pearl Street with their friends and families on October 31, from 2-4pm. The sight of Downtown Boulder being overrun by ghosts, wizards, and superheroes will certainly be one to remember. Come and take part in this really unique event, the kids will love dressing up, and you’ll enjoy having a safe environment to spend quality family time.
I’m confident it’s going to be another great fall season in Boulder, and the upcoming lineup of events is going to be a killer way to kick things off. Whether you’re into family events or the finer things in life, this October is sure to have something to match your taste.
