All summer long, we’re highlighting the work of Boulder’s most influential citizens. We’re looking at a variety of industries, each of which lends itself to our city’s one-of-a-kind charm. It’s all part of the #MyBoulderSummer series, which we are hosting as a way of sharing our love for Boulder with the world. This week, we’re turning our focus to finance.
Rob Shuham: Angel Investor, Advisor, Mentor
Rob Shuham is the Chief Investor and namesake of RJ Shuham Capital. It’s a venture that connects him with nearly every niche you can image, including Tech, Food, Health, and Lifestyle. Investments like these make perfect sense for someone from a place like Boulder, but his reach doesn’t stop there.
Rob is an avid supporter of startups, in general. He brings new meaning to the term “growth hacking” through his disruptive, innovative approach to launching the brands and new products with which he is involved. His company, Common, is a prime example of his pioneering mindset. Common is a sharing economy model wherein the community rapidly prototypes and launches new ventures under a unified and collaborative brand. Its mission is to empower emerging entrepreneurs, designers, and creatives.
His hand in startup accelerators is another example of this same focus. For Boulderites, one of Shuham’s most notable and recognizable accelerators would be Boomtown, for which he serves as a Mentor, Investor, and Advisor. He is also the founder of another similar organization, 17Global. If you are trying to get a startup off the ground or hope to find a mentor in that space, there is no better resource in Boulder (or arguably, the country) than Rob.
