If our world’s craziness makes you feel on edge, you’re absolutely not alone. In our always-plugged-in lifestyle, it can be nearly impossible to escape the stress of the news cycle. While it’s important to stay up-to-date with current events, there comes a time when you need to put your mental health first. If you’ve been searching for a way to leave all your worries behind, you’ll want to check out a meditation retreat in Colorado. Whether you want to stay close to home in Boulder or feel that stepping away from it all would be most beneficial, Colorado has excellent options. Here, I share a few upcoming meditation retreats to consider:
August 4-10: Nonduality in Nature: The Direct Path of Beauty and Love
Ward, Colorado is less than an hour’s drive from Boulder. In this breathtaking town, you’ll find Rocky Mountain Ecodharma Retreat Center, which hosts more than 30 nature retreats each year. Led by Johann Robbins and Caverly Morgan, Nonduality in Nature: The Direct Path of Beauty and Love is ideal for those who want to get in touch with the land and enjoy guided meditation and one-on-one and small group instruction. All are welcome, from beginners to experienced meditators.
August 14-18: Women’s Retreat in Aspen
If you’d like to revel in Aspen’s beauty, book your spot for a five-day women’s retreat in the mountains of this iconic city. Although this retreat will feature plenty of opportunities for meditation, you’ll also join fellow attendees in yoga practice, hiking, and hot springs bathing. This gathering will surely be a soul-nourishing experience and a refreshing opportunity for connection.
August 30-September 1: Learn to Meditate
For the uninitiated, this event is the perfect way to ease into the world of meditation. From August 30 to September 1st, participants will learn the art of meditation from ordained Buddhist monk Loden Nyima. Learn to Meditate: An Introduction and Retreat For Everyone will be held at Drala Mountain Center in Red Feather Lakes. At this gentle and supportive retreat, you’ll learn the basics of meditation and discover on-the-spot calming methods you can apply in real life. Registration is open now!
October 3-6: Release: Rocky Mountain Women’s Healing Retreat
There’s no better place to release, recharge, and reconnect than in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. This retreat will take place in beautiful Winter Park, Colorado, about an hour and a half drive from Boulder. The drive winds through some of the most picturesque stretches of highway in the state, so you’ll be off to a great start before you even arrive on the grounds. During the retreat, women from all walks of life will engage together in daily meditation, healing circles, ecstatic dance, and more. Only a few spots remain, so register as soon as possible if you’d like to attend.
I hope you’ll treat yourself to a chance to relax and unwind in our gorgeous state this summer and fall. Luckily, there’s no shortage of excellent retreats to help you escape life’s stressors and appreciate the beauty around you and within you. Whether you attend one of these meditation retreats or you find solace elsewhere, I wish you peace on your journey.
