Vegan Dairy Fair
When: Saturday May 5th, 12-4pm
Where: Millennium Harvest House Hotel, 1345 28th St.
Calling all dairy lovers! This fair celebrates all things dairy, and is not just for vegans. Enjoy over twenty vendors specializing in vegan cheese, yogurt, ice cream, caramels, milk, and more! Over ten exhibitors will serve samples of creative concoctions like avocado ice cream, coffee creamers, and aged cheese. There are activities like hula-hooping, education about animal welfare, a kid’s corner, and, of course, a mac and cheese taste-off.
FN Weird: Coming of Age Weirdly
When: Fridays at 8:45pm
Where: Boedecker Theater of the Dairy Arts Center, 2590 Walnut St.
Every Friday in May, celebrate the weirdness of growing up with the Friday Night Weird film series. This month, spend Fridays with the following films: Freak Show, Fish Tank, Blue My Mind, and Raw. From a young man running for homecoming queen to a teenage girl developing a taste for raw meat, these films will surely entertain.
May Wine Club: Benzinger Family Winery
When: Wednesday, May 9th from 6-7pm
Where: Spruce Farm & Fish
This month’s Wine Club features Benzinger Family Winery, a certified sustainable and biodynamic winery. Sip samples of their Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet alongside appetizers created especially for the event by the executive chef.
Media Live: Interdependence
When: May 14th-19th
Where: Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, 1750 13th St.
Bringing together art, technology, and digital culture, this event ties into the Boulder Startup Week. This year, the festival embraces the relationships between people and the environment, nonhuman organisms, and each other with a focus on how technology impacts each connection. Partake in an award-winning virtual reality exhibition by Hyphen-Labs, exercise and examine the internet with artist Liat Berdugo, interact with Kitty AI by Pinar Yoldas, or immerse yourself in the Sound of Ceres sensory performance.
Celebrates the music and life of composer Gustav Mahler, this yearly fest culminates in performances of his symphonic works. Enjoy open rehearsals at various locations around town, attend symposiums and lectures, and be astounded by the talented musicians and singers taking stage.
Memorial Day Weekend Events
When: May 26th-28th
This Memorial Day weekend, wander around Central Park and enjoy live music and dance performances, or peruse hundreds of booths at the Boulder Creek Festival. On Memorial Day itself, participate in or cheer on those running the BolderBoulder 10k through Boulder’s neighborhoods.
