In Boulder, Colorado, there truly is never a dull moment. This month is no exception. With festivals, marathons and culinary indulgences happening all month long, May will be an entertaining and enjoyable month for all. And don’t forget that special holiday – Mother’s Day, on May 12th!
Mothers, May is your month, and there are plenty of activities in your honor. Whether you’re indulging in fabulous brunches at Boulder’s most exquisite hotels, running your heart out, or dancing the two-step, you’re guaranteed to remember this day for years to come.
Mother’s Day Brunches
Gather up your family and head over to Boulder’s lavish hotels for a brunch in your honor. The St Julien Hotel & Spa is hosting their Mother’s Day brunch from 10am until 2pm on their patio, inside their lobby, and in Jill’s restaurant. If you’d rather attend the Mother’s Day brunch at the equally fabulous Hotel Boulderado, it will be held between 10am and 2:30pm

May we have some festivals? Yes, of course!
Boulder can’t let a month go by without putting on a festival or two. Two festivals come to town this month, The Boulder Creek Fest, and the Boulder Art and Jazz Festival. Both promise to be packed with entertainment, music, and of course, delicious grub.
If you’re in the mood for music and Creole cuisine, head over to the Pearl St. Pub and Cellar, on Saturday May 4th and Sunday May 5th for the Boulder Art and Jazz Festival. This New Orleans themed festival begins at 10am and will feature live music, delicious Creole cooking, as well as arts & crafts.
Bring your family to Boulder Creek during the last weekend in May for the 26th Annual Boulder Creek Festival. Spend the day wandering along Boulder Creek tasting delicious, local food, while bands play on four different music stages.
With 500 vendors displaying local art, health alternatives and technology, you’ll have a hard time leaving. The kids will have a great time too – there will be plenty of carnival rides. And, no Creek Fest would be complete without the traditional rubber duck race down Boulder Creek.
Comedians and Date Nights
Many of you might recognize the name Aziz Ansari from SNL or Parks and Recreation. On Wednesday, May 8th, fans of this world-renowned comedian have the chance to see him live at Macky Auditorium. While it isn’t necessarily suited for the kids, it certainly will have you laughing your evening away.
Is your culinary skill lacking some luster? Learn from the pros at August Escoffier School of Arts on Friday, May 27th at their Dinner Date series.
Bring your special someone to a one-day workshop and learn how to take your date nights to a whole new level. The evening’s menu will consist of crostini with white bean spread, carrot soup with dill pesto, salmon and arugula salad, and a chocolate silk tart for dessert.
Boulder’s eclectic spirit provides a wide variety of gathering and events. Whether you’re a running enthusiast, a comic fan, a music buff, or a struggling chef, this month has a treat for everyone.
