Boulder offers no shortage of great programming year round, but during the summer the community flourishes. Whether you want to attend a live music event, go to a yoga festival, watch Shakespeare, or compete in a triathlon, there are options for everyone. Here are just a few of the activities scheduled for the month of June in Boulder.
The theme of TEDxBoulder this year is “Truth and Daring” and asks attendees what is real, and how bold can they be. Featuring over 15 speakers, the event will inspire, provoke, entertain, and move participants and audience members alike. Tickets to the event include a picnic-style snack, admission to all four hours of programming, and the opportunity to connect with innovators, motivators, and community members.

Love and ambition are the themes at this year’s Shakespeare Festival. During the month of June, follow the hilarious journey of four best friends whose futile attempts to swear off love delights audiences in Love’s Labour’s Lost. The preview for Love’s Labour’s Lost is June 8th, and performances run through August. If you prefer a more dramatic tale, dive into the darkness of Richard III when it starts performances on June 22nd.

Where: Event begins at the Boulder Reservoir
Athletes around the world love IRONMAN Boulder. Why? Because of the beautiful scenery on the course, and the supportive spectators throughout. The triathlon begins with the swim at the reservoir, where competitors will then mount their bikes to ride through North Boulder County. Once they make it back to the reservoir, the run commences, and spectators can watch from there until the runners make it to the finish line at Canyon Blvd and 13th Street. IRONMAN-related events begin Friday the 8th through Monday the 11th, and include a Pro-Athlete Panel, a kick-off party, and an awards ceremony.

Once again, the Hanuman Festival transforms the area around and inside Boulder High School into a yogic retreat and music festival. The festival’s incredible line-up includes world-famous yoga instructors of a myriad of styles, and talented local and international musicians. From pop-up boutiques to morning meditations to group hikes, this celebration of yoga and community is a great way to spend the weekend. Tickets are available here.

Where: 1300 Block of Pearl
Every Wednesday this summer starting on June 6th, make your way to the Pearl Street Mall for a rotating lineup of local breweries and musicians. The beer garden opens at 5:30 and performances for this summer concert run from 6-9pm. Musicians range from the Long Run “Colorado’s Tribute to The Eagles” to jamband group Groove A Licious and everything in-between.
