
Even in the hottest part of the summer, our city keeps it cool with engaging events for every interest. Looking for fun ways to celebrate the season? Here, I share a snapshot of July events in Boulder:
Rooftop Fourth of July Pool Celebration
When: 7/4
Where: Limelight Boulder
If you’re looking for a great Fourth of July celebration, head to Limelight for the rooftop pool party. The festivities run from 11am to 5pm. A DJ will be playing from 12-4, and there will be plenty of food and libations (including classic burgers and festive cocktails) to enjoy. All are welcome, but if you’re not a current guest, you’ll need to purchase a day pass.
Colorado Music Festival
When: 7/9-8/9
Where: Chautauqua Auditorium
The Colorado Music Festival offers the chance to experience compelling live performances throughout July and August. This year, the festival celebrates 50 years of magnificent music. You can expect a diverse lineup of talented musicians, ranging from orchestral concerts and symphonic masterpieces to family-friendly events. Boulder Environmental/Nature/Outdoors Film Festival
When: 7/16-19
Where: Dairy Arts Center
Boulder is a hub for prestigious film festivals (hello, Sundance!). While we still have a while to go until Sundance arrives, the Boulder Environmental/Nature/Outdoors Film Festival is a great way to enjoy film in the meantime. This four-day festival will feature exciting short films, interviews, and bonus content. Attendees can expect a thought-provoking celebration of the natural world. Passes are available here.
Pearl Street Arts Fest
When: 7/17-19
Where: Pearl Street Mall
The 49th annual Pearl Street Arts Fest runs July 17-19. This family-friendly art festival welcomes more than 100 artists from 22 states and offers an excellent opportunity to shop small and support the arts. Whether you’re looking for traditional watercolors, sculptures, oil paintings, or something one-of-a-kind, you’ll likely find it here. Bands on the Bricks
When: Wednesdays until 7/29
Where: Pearl Street Mall
Boulder gets especially musical in the summertime. Bands on the Bricks is one of our city’s most beloved summer concert series, featuring eight weeks of free concerts spanning rock, reggae, and beyond. The beer garden opens at 5:30, and the opening band kicks off at 6pm. The headliners perform from 7-9pm. Check out the schedule and promotions here.
