Festivals

Art is as common and revered in Boulder as music is, and as such, July would not seem properly celebrated without at least one festival of the arts.

Our beautiful city is hosting not one, but two arts festivals this July. These festivals make for a great family outing. Gather the children and show them the beautiful art work that will be on display and for sale.

The Twenty Ninth Street Mall will be hosting the Boulder Festival of the Arts on the weekend of July 13th and 14th. The festival is open to the public and will begin at 10:00am both days. 70,000 are expected to attend, so come early while there are still parking spaces available.

Also taking place on the 14th is the Tour des Farms Festival. Take part in one of Boulder’s most famed bike rides, and then indulge in a lunch at Lone Hawk Farm. This ride is open to anyone, from leisurely bikers to competitive cyclists. All you need is a set of wheels, enthusiasm, and a love for our local farms. Lunch menus will be determined by what was harvested that day, and promises to be an exquisite treat.

The following weekend, Downtown Boulder Inc. and Open Arts will be hosting the Open Arts Fest on our very own Pearl Street Mall. The festival will run all weekend, from 10:00am until 8:00pm both days. This celebration of the visual arts will feature some of our local artists as well as artists from around the country. Silent auctions will be held to benefit the Open Arts scholarship program.

July would not be complete without a little input from our local breweries.

Avery Brewing Company’s Four on the Fourth 4k will take place at noon on, you guessed it, July 4th. Participants will run their race through the Flatiron Business Park. After the race a catered breakfast well be held at Avery Brewing company, where participants 21 and older can enjoy local craft beer.

The annual Kyle’s Brew Fest Boulder will be held on July 20th at Boulder Beer Company. Come visit with honorary guest Kyle Hollingsworth, indulge in some good music and fine brews, and enjoy the splendors of our local crafts!

July promises to be a splendid month in Boulder. With endless sunshine upon us, music in our ears, and nature at our doorstep, it will be hard not to find some way to entertain yourself. Gather the family together, and explore all that Boulder is offering this July!
