Boulder is a vibrant and diverse community. However, there’s no getting around the fact that the cost of living is higher than average here. Most of us want to help fellow Boulder residents when we can, and the Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA) is doing great work to provide our community with food, housing and other critical resources. Now that the holiday season is over, EFAA is running low on many essential items. If you’d like to participate in this organization’s virtual food drive, it’s easy to donate! Here are the details on how to donate and why you should consider doing so:
About the Emergency Family Assistance Association
The vision of EFAA is to cultivate a stable, healthy and thriving community for all. This organization provides a plethora of stabilizing services for Boulder County, as well as innovative programs and advocacy.
The Food Bank offered by EFAA is one of the most impactful aspects for residents of Boulder and the surrounding areas. EFAA’s Food Bank serves 2,045 unduplicated individuals and 775 unduplicated households each month, so donating to this department will have an immediate and much-needed impact.
How to Donate
Right now, the Food Bank is running low on supplies. If you’re interested in donating goods, there are many ways to contribute. The most convenient option is to purchase goods for EFAA via the organization’s grocery store wish lists. When you select the shipping option, your purchase will be shipped directly to EFAA’s specified address. You can buy via Walmart, Target, or Amazon.
You may also drop off your donation items in person if you prefer. Donation goods can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 8:30-11:30 am to the location on Yarmouth Ave.
EFAA also accepts monetary donations. Gift givers can pay online, mail a check, set up recurring donations, or find another solution such as employee matching or corporate giving. To learn more about the many options for donating, please visit this site.
We all can play a role in helping our community flourish. If you’d like to help Boulder County residents in need, donating to the EFAA is an excellent place to start. Please join me in contributing to the virtual food drive, donating funds, or volunteering.
