Halloween in Boulder County is a time for celebration (and not just because Boulder knows how to throw epic parties…). By the end of October, leaves have turned gold, a chill has settled over the Foothills, and the community is hosting a bunch of awesome Halloween-themed events. Here’s what we’re getting into this Halloween.
Motown Halloween Dance Party
When: 10/29, 8pm – 10pm
Where: Roots Music Project
Hitch a ride back in time…but don’t forget your dancing shoes. This Motown Halloween Dance Party will be one for the books. If you’re looking for an alternative way to spend this candy-inspired holiday, this dance party gives guests the chance to kick it with the greats – Marvin Gayne, the Temptations, and more. A 7-piece band will set the fun and funky tone.
Swingin’ Spooks Halloween Ball
When: 10/29, 7pm
Where: The Avalon
Slip on your best costume and head down to The Avalon for a night of big band music and swing dancing. All are welcome at this groovy gathering. Singles, beginners to swing dancing, and families will get a kick out of the Swingin’ Spooks Halloween Ball. Arrive on time for free dance lessons and test out your new moves with one of Denver’s best-known swing bands.
5th Annual Halloween Bar Crawl
When: 10/29, 4pm – 12:00am
Where: License No. 1
Take a tour of some of Boulder’s best bars this Halloween. Start your evening off around sunset by grabbing a drink at License No. 1. Move along Pearl Street, check out the costumes, and meet other locals during the epic Halloween Bar Crawl.
Munchkin Masquerade
When: 10/31, 3 – 6pm
Where: Pearl Street Mall
For the most adorable Halloween experience, bring the little ones down to the Historic Pearl Street Mall for the annual Munchkin Masquerade. Kids of all ages dress up in delightful costumes and parade along the bricks. Shops will set out fun arts and crafts while offering plenty of treats to fill goodie bags.
Exotica Erotica Ball
When: 10/31, 9 – 11:30pm
Where: The Riverside
As one of Colorado’s longest running masquerade balls, the Exotica Erotica Ball should make it onto your October calendar. Experience a different community that loves all things fantastical and eccentric. This event is not family friendly and will feature a host of adult-themed entertainment. Year after year, this erotica-focused ball has one awards from Penthouse, Westword, The Daily Camera and more.
Halloween in Boulder County is rife with events from tame to downright wild. Pack the weekend with daytime parades, evening bar hopping, and late night dancing for an All Hollow’s Eve to remember.
