It’s restaurant season in Boulder, and locals are especially excited about the one-week culinary bonanza known as First Bite Boulder. From November 13-21, over 40 local establishments participate in this wonderful event by preparing delicious menus that showcase their chefs’ talents. This year marks the 10th anniversary, and restaurateurs are putting together an extra special lineup of menus. If you’re a foodie in the Boulder area, this is the event for you.
Still sitting on the fence about going this year? Here are a couple of reasons why this event is an annual can’t-miss:
The Price
For $29, guests at any of the 40+ participating restaurants will have the opportunity to dine like kings and queens. The three-course prix fixe dinners are absolutely swoon-worthy, and are certainly a great value. First Bite Boulder is an awesome way for area culinary talents to show off what they’re capable of in order to leave a lasting impact for guests – the perfect opportunity for restaurants to branch out and expose new potential clientele to what they have to offer. It’s the first chance for many Boulder locals to sample food from their town that they may have otherwise skipped in favor of one of their usual stomping grounds.
The Variety
One of my favorite things about First Bite Boulder is the sheer number of participating venues. On any given day, you can look forward to world-class offerings from across many different cuisines and regional styles. From the wholesome farm-to-table approach of Salt to more luxe options like Boulder Cork and Brasserie Ten Ten, many will get lost in the different opportunities for dinner each night.
This week is not ideal for people who have trouble making decisions among a field of worthy choices. For those who enjoy trying something new every day, however, the variety is something spectacular. To help you decide, they’ve even put together a listing of every restaurant taking part in the festivities, along with each of their menus. Examples of what to expect can range from bacon-wrapped cashew butter stuffed dates (a mouthful, literally) at Blooming Beets, to Navajo tacos at Kachina. Whatever your taste, I’m confident that First Bite Boulder has just the memorable experience you’re looking for.
Presented by DiningOut Magazine, not only is First Bite Boulder a local highlight, but the combination of highly touted restaurants and ten years of tradition have helped garner national attention for 2015. If you’re in search of a great dining experience, I encourage you to check out any of the phenomenal eateries taking part in this year’s event.
