Black Futures in Art: The Space Between Us
When: Until 3/30
Where: Dairy Arts Center
Through March 30th, stop by the Dairy Arts Center to experience the newest exhibition, Black Futures in Art: The Space Between Us. This art exhibit invites participants to reimagine the distances that divide and define us–real or imagined. This feature builds upon last year’s theme of “Can You Hear Me?” and provides a catalyst for reflection on how separations came to be, why they persist, and what it might take to dismantle them. This exhibition features work by Black artists and allies from across the nation.
LatinSoul Valentine’s Dance Party
When: 2/13
Where: Roots Music Project
Looking for a night of high-energy fun? You won’t want to miss out on LatinSoul Valentine’s Dance Party with Los Alcos. Hosted by Roots Music Project, this event will provide an unforgettable evening of dance, music, love, and passion. Headlined by the captivating Felisa Hernandez (LatinSoul), this gathering is inclusive and will make you want to hit the dance floor. The first 50 participants will receive complimentary chocolates as a special Valentine’s Day treat.
Date Night Tapas
When: 2/15
Where: Food Lab Boulder
A class at Food Lab is always a treat, and the Valentine’s Day offerings are especially festive and romantic. For lovers of Japanese cuisine, Date Night Tapas is a can’t-miss. This session will feature a vibrant menu, including kabocha fritters, spicy tuna with sticky rice, and ton negima with pineapple. This cooking course is so popular that two time slots are available on the 15th: 2-5 pm or 6:30-9:30 pm. Register here!
Banff Mountain Film Festival
When: 2/17-19
Where: Boulder Theater
Boulder Theater is the perfect venue for the Banff Mountain Film Festival. During this three-day festival, you can exit the beaten path and revel in the fascinating stories from the 49th Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival. Films selected for the 2024-2025 World Tour explore the steepest slopes and highest peaks, providing adrenaline-pumping action and inspirational adventures. Tickets are available here.
Trash the Runway
When: 2/27
Where: Macky Auditorium
Trash the Runway at Macky Auditorium is scheduled for February 27th. If you’ve never attended Trash the Runway, I hope this will be the year you try it! This fantastic event is run by a nonprofit organization that challenges middle and high school students to create high-fashion garb from entirely found, non-recyclable, or non-compostable materials. The results are beautiful and incredibly creative–rivaling even the best fashion shows. Come and be inspired by the leaders of tomorrow, who will lead the charge towards a more sustainable future.
