From art exhibitions to winter festivals, Boulder’s February calendar promises an unforgettable experience for those eager to discover the city’s dynamic happenings. Performing Self
When: Feb 1 – 29
Where: BMoCA
This art exhibition showcases work from seven multidisciplinary artists celebrating and examining identity, its mutability, and the embodiment of an alter ego. In addition to visual art, guests have the opportunity to watch a fantastic drag performance by Louis Trujillo. Performing Self runs throughout February and invites viewers to seek ways in which they participate in the embodiment of their own alter egos.
Acts of Faith
When: 2/1 – 2/18
Where: The Dairy
Catch this one-woman show at Boulder’s favorite performing arts center. Acts of Faith follows Faith, a young woman from Zambia who is mistaken for a prophet. Faith uses her “gifts” to restore hope and punish the wicked when a community member tries to take advantage of her. Don’t miss the chance to see what Colorado Theatre Guild awarded “Best Play”.
Make a Valentine
When: 2/4, 12 – 4
Where: Two Hands Paperie
The age-old tradition of celebrating love on Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be cheesy or overly romantic. Crafting hand-made cards from beautiful paper for people you love in many capacities offers a sweet reminder to the giver and receiver that humans need relationships. This free, drop-in event is a great activity for people of all ages and invites Boulderites to escape the cold, enjoy Pearl Street, and flex those creative muscles.
The North Face Presents: Reel Rock 18
When: 2/16 – 17, 7pm

The North Face is presenting the world premiere of Reel Rock 18 in Boulder. This special evening will feature athlete appearances, gear giveaways and more. Experience the climbing world like never before, with four films from the international community: a first ascent on Japan’s Mt. Mizugaki, a Ukrainian climbing community, a free ascent of Jirishanca in Peru, and a look at Mallorca’s deep-water soloing. Sofar Sounds: Pop-Up Concert

If you haven’t been to a Sofar show yet, buy a ticket for this next one on Pearl Street Mall. Sofar hosts pop-up concerts in Boulder and Denver, revealing the artist and exact location 36 hours before the event. These secret concerts often sell out because Sofar is remarkable at curating a welcoming, intentional space for music lovers, by music lovers.
