With events like kids’ workshops, opportunities for learning, and fantastic music just around the corner, it is shaping up to be another memorable month in the Boulder-Denver area. Children’s Workshop: Celebrating Mardi Gras!
Looking for a kid-friendly place to celebrate Mardi Gras? Be sure to check out the Dairy Arts Center. This two hour workshop on February 6th is both educational and entertaining – the perfect mid-day activity for people of all ages. The event will kick things off with a presentation on the history behind Mardi Gras. After learning what this festive holiday is all about, kids will have the opportunity to create their own masks and musical instruments. Everything wraps up with a miniature parade, in which parents and guardians are encouraged to participate.
Valentine’s Foovie
This Valentine’s Day weekend, break the routine and take your special someone to an event they won’t soon forget. On Saturday, February 13th, Boulder International Film Festival will be hosting a Mardi Gras themed “Foovie” (Film + Movie) in Boulder. The evening will begin with music, delicious cuisine and wines, and tasty brews. You can find additional details and purchase tickets on their website.
Grand Opening: BLDG 61
Science fans rejoice – Boulder Public Library has a big announcement for you on February 18th. Join Boulderites in celebrating the grand opening of BLDG 61, the newest addition to our city’s learning resources. Pronounced “building sixty-one,” this beautiful workspace is dedicated to hands-on experiences for all ages. The area will feature 3D printers, woodworking tools, textile equipment, and much more. Folks at the grand opening event will each create and take home their own maker notebooks. In addition, there will be live demonstrations of some of the new equipment. Come take a peek at this cutting-edge community resource, there’s something for everyone.
