February 2014 Events in Boulder, Colorado

February is an interesting month here in Boulder.  There’s a curious mix of romance and creativity in the air, which inevitably breeds the most exciting and peculiar events.  From a world-renowned international film festival, to romantic pallet-pleasing dining experiences and grand openings for creative thinking spaces, this month is certainly filled with must-see spectacles.

If you happen to catch a glimpse of someone who looks like a famous actor or celebrity walking the streets of Boulder this month, don’t be surprised.  This February marks the 10th anniversary of the Boulder International Film Festival.  For the last ten years, actors, critics, directors, and movie enthusiasts have gathered in Boulder for a three-day festival of independent films.

Valentine’s Day

There are so many special dinners happening throughout the Boulder restaurant scene this Valentine’s Day, it will be hard to settle on just one spot.  Hotel Boulderado, Ají, Chautaqua Dining Hall, and the Dushanbe Tea House are all offering multi-course, prix fixe menus that are each so delicious in their own way, you might just have to attend all five.

If you’re in the mood for something more creative, and less filling, you might want to look into Art on the Brix’s Paint Your Mate event.  You and your sweetheart can spend the evening painting Picasso-like versions of each other while indulging in delightful appetizers, courtesy of Indulge Wine Bistro.  Your first glass of beer or wine is also included in the price.  Yes, that’s right boys, there’s going to be beer.
