As summer comes to a close and we welcome fall, the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA) is embracing a season of bold creativity and meaningful dialogue. From engaging exhibitions to lively public programs, there’s a lot happening at BMoCA this fall. Here’s a closer look at what’s on the calendar:
Contemporary Classroom
Contemporary Classroom is a free, in-school program from BMoCA that brings contemporary art to life through hands-on workshops and educator-led lessons. Covering subjects such as Visual Arts, Social Studies, Science, Economics, and Technology, this program includes all necessary materials and curriculum, making it easy to incorporate into the school day. To request a visit, email [email protected]. Spots are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis!
Look At Us Now: Now Through October 2025
Grace Gutierrez uses shapes, textures, and vibrant colors in her art to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Inspired by real stories of challenge and triumph, Look At Us Now explores how these shared experiences can bring people together and strengthen community. This exhibition is open from now until October 2025. You won’t want to miss it!
Art Stop: Saturdays Until November
From April through November, BMoCA’s Art Stop provides free, hands-on art-making activities for families every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. during the Boulder County Farmers Market. Situated outdoors on 13th Street in front of the museum, these drop-in projects are inspired by current exhibitions and the lively sights and sounds of the market. Rain or shine, Art Stop goes on—just head inside the museum during bad weather.
MediaLive: Data Rich, Dirt Poor: September 11, 2025 to January 11, 2026
What does “value” truly mean today? As our world becomes increasingly centered on rapid technological development and profit-oriented systems, the 2025 edition of MediaLive examines how we define worth. This year’s program questions the assumption that newer or more advanced technology is always better. Instead, it spotlights artists who utilize low-tech, hands-on media techniques, offering a thoughtful counter to our obsession with continual growth and the latest tools. Art Trek: October 16, 2025
BMoCA now offers informal, staff-led guided tours of current exhibitions—designed to be fun, relaxed, and informative. These casual tours are a great way to deepen your understanding of the art on view, ask questions, and connect with the work in a more personal way.
