The Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art offers remarkable exhibits all year round. In addition to the diverse selection of exhibitions, the museum is proud to offer a variety of outreach programs and special events. If you’re interested in exploring more of this iconic gallery, we share a range of events you won’t want to miss:
Young Artists at Work: September 17
BMoCA’s Young Artists at Work program is an excellent opportunity for kids to develop and nourish a deep appreciation of the arts. If you have a little artist in the family, BMoCA’s Young Artists at Work program could be the perfect addition to your fall schedule. On Monday, September 17, kids from ages 5 to 12 will have the opportunity to participate in the Selfie: Strike a Pose workshop. At this fun event, attendees will create their own self portraits inspired by Giuseppe Arcimboldi’s imaginative works of art. If your child would like to attend, registration is available online.
ARTMIX 2018: September 21
ARTMIX is BMoCA’s premier seasonal event. This year, mingle with fellow attendees over a delicious array of hors d’oeuvres and beverages while you await the much-anticipated silent auction. If you’ve been looking for the ideal piece to add to your collection, there’s a good chance that you’ll find it at ARTMIX. The silent auction will offer a diverse lineup of art from artists around the world, including works by local Coloradans. Proceeds from the auction will benefit BMoCA’s outreach programs, so each bid goes toward a worthy cause.
SPARK! Tours For Individuals With Memory Loss: October 12
Memory loss is challenging at any stage: that’s why BMoCA has created a program to help individuals with early to mid-stage memory loss enjoy artwork in a stress-free setting. SPARK! tours aim to provide interactive experiences, and family members are welcome to join, too. The next SPARK! event runs from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on October 12, and includes an art-making session and specialized tour.
The Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art is a valuable part of our community. The museum offers wonderful public and youth programs, and the organizers do important work to make art more accessible to people from all walks of life. Young Artists at Work and SPARK! events are available throughout the year, so take a look at the calendar to start planning future artistic opportunities for loved ones. To view the museum’s latest exhibitions, stop by from Tuesday to Sunday to explore thought-provoking works by talented artists.
