Boulder Creek Festival might just be our city’s most beloved event. Year-round, Boulder Creek is a lifegiving source that runs right through Boulder’s downtown, providing a peaceful spot to read, a fun place to play, and cool waters to wade in during summer’s hottest months. To celebrate our favorite river, Boulder Creek Events has long been hosting an annual festival that has transformed over the years into a weekend-long event that hosts guests from near and far. Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s Boulder Creek Festival.
When & Where
The fest kicks off August 19 and ends on August 21. Each day boasts numerous activities, live performances, and more so there’s plenty to do from open until close. Friday night is the most limited night of the fest and runs from 5 – 9pm. Saturday and Sunday both host exhibitor booths that close at 6pm, but music will rock until 9pm. Festivities will occur around the Bandshell, at 13th and Canyon in downtown Boulder. Parking may be limited because of the fest’s popularity so guests are invited to walk, run, bike, or bus.
Events & Activities
The Boulder Creek Festival is much more than live music – although with our city’s talented musicians, that would be enough. The LETR StarLite Classic Car and Motorcycle Show runs adjacent, drawing in crowds of motorheads with unique automobiles from decades past.
For sports fans young and old, you needn’t travel far to get your fix. The Great Zucchini Race is sure to get your blood pumping. Bring your own or select from numerous overgrown zucchini to decorate and race down the zucchini ramp. This event is open to all ages. Boulder is certainly known for some quirky things, but this may take the cake.
In case you needed more between live music, vegetable rallies, and classic car shows, the Boulder Creek Festival has curated some of the best food and drink around and will be serving up tasty delights all weekend long. Its food truck and beer garden aim to please with a wide variety of selections that are sure to keep guests happy and energized all weekend long.
