With so many programs scheduled for Boulder’s three-month long summer, it can be a challenge to determine what’s worth your time. Boulder’s “Concerts in the Park” series, however, is a can’t-miss. Hosted by the Boulder Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with the Boulder Concert Band, the concerts take place at six different parks and run every Monday at 7 p.m. from June 26 until July 31.
Here’s all the information you need to enjoy this family friendly summertime event.
Monday, June 26
To kick off the series, the BCB will perform at Scott Carpenter Park at 7 p.m. (all Concerts in the Park performances begin on Mondays at 7 p.m. and end at 8 p.m.).
Though the BCB is composed of local volunteer musicians, this concert includes some very special guests: members of the 101st Army Winds of the Colorado National Guard.
Monday, July 3
The local talent that comprises the BCB will be on full display for this concert. Located at Salberg Park, enjoy the BCB’s repertoire of music ranging from classic standards to modern compositions.
Monday, July 10
This concert will be held at the cherished Chautauqua Park Bring a blanket and a picnic basket to enjoy beautiful vistas and striking harmonies at this Chautauqua event.
Monday, July 17
North Boulder Park is another stunning location to take in an evening with friends and family under the stars while listening to Boulder’s very own BCB.
The significance of this park is immense. Not only did it host the starting line for the first-ever BolderBOULDER 10k race, but was frequented by legendary musician Joe Walsh of The Eagles and his family, as well. Sit back, relax, and reminisce on the storied grounds where you’ll be hearing the beautiful tunes of the Boulder Concert Band.
Monday, July 24
This concert will take place in the Central Park – Labyrinth area near the Boulder Public Library at 900 Arapahoe. Don’t miss out on this performance, before the final show at Harlow Platts Park.
Monday, July 31
The final performance will be held at Harlow Platts Park. Overlooking the beautiful Viele Lake , this park is the perfect way to end what should be another spectacular Concerts in the Park series.
