Street Wise’s Artivism Mural Festival takes place from September 29th through October 2nd. It’s a free event open to locals and visitors throughout Boulder, CO.
This year, the festival is focused on augmented reality (AR), which creates an interactive experience that merges the real world with artistry, digital effects, computer-generated perpetual information, and animation. The goal of AR is to enhance the audience’s experience while expanding the message of the art and inviting engagement. When successful, AR can deepen important conversations on vital issues and create more potent change.
Street Wise Boulder features workshops, panels, presentations, art parties, receptions, community events, and walking mural tours. If you’re interested in viewing the murals without a guide, check out the mural map for information on where to go.
About Street Wise Boulder
Street Wise Boulder was created in 2019 as an annual event to honor “artivism” through the installation of dozens of murals in various places around the city of Boulder. The mission of the festival is to amplify arts and culture, while representing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The movement is founded on social justice, resilience, and community. It focuses on giving voices to BIPOC, LGBTQ members, and emerging/new artists, as well as bringing art to underserved areas of Boulder, the heart of town, and the arts district. The organization also creates programming for youth and community workshops open to all.
Come support a good cause and enjoy the artistic beauty of Boulder on a picture-perfect autumn weekend.
