Open Boulder is a recently launched community-organized non-profit dedicated to making Boulder an even more amazing city to “live, work, and play” in. By committing to Boulder’s present civic development and environmental sustainability, Open Boulder seeks to ensure the city’s future as an affordable, inclusive, and forward-thinking place.
As a nonpartisan, grassroots movement Open Boulder has a diverse membership, which includes natives and newcomers. I’m proud to be a part of Open Boulder’s steering committee, as I work alongside other passionate Boulder residents. From parents to students, to business owners and employees, we are an eclectic group devoted to bringing about positive change and growth for Boulder.
Open Boulder believes that political, economical, and environmental growth should benefit all members of the community. Regardless of background, all Boulder residents should be able to pursue prosperity and health, and not be forced out of the city due to financial burdens. To ensure that Boulder becomes and remains a truly open city, Open Boulder wants to create affordable housing and transportation solutions that benefit everyone.
Open Boulder also believes a dynamic economy can be achieved by supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs, which help create jobs and fund community programs. Companies in the tech, bioscience, natural foods, outdoors/sporting goods, and clean energy industries are all essential to sustaining Boulder’s amazing culture.

Sustaining our Open Spaces and Mountain Parks is also a part of the organization’s mission. Boulder is a great city for nature-lovers and those who love recreational activities. Open Boulder seeks to expand the city’s open-air lifestyle by making our Open Spaces and Parks accessible to everyone.
For Boulder to evolve and thrive, Open Boulder aims to work together to maintain our city’s outdoorsy lifestyle, expand our economy, and promote livability for all. We hope to inspire more political activity and civic mindedness so that our local government can better represent our diverse community.
In order to achieve these goals, Open Boulder wants to work collectively by encouraging community discussion and research through forums, surveys, and social media outlets. For information about upcoming events, stay connected on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
