Brunch
Mother’s Day doesn’t feel complete without brunch! Spending Sunday morning or afternoon, sharing a meal and good conversation with our moms, is a classic way to celebrate. Boulder has plenty of tasty spots to choose from but make sure to reserve a table early, since going out to brunch is very popular here.
One of the many exciting dining options is Salt. Located on Pearl Street’s west end, the bistro will be serving a special Mother’s Day Prix Fixe Brunch from 9-3pm for $35/person. The three-course menu features an innovative take on brunch standards, including crab cake eggs Benedict, oyster mushroom omelet, and buttermilk cherry pancakes.
Downtown Boulder has many great restaurant options, including the Latin American-inspired Centro. Its weekend brunch features a happy hour menu served from 9:30-11:30am, which includes $4 Mimosas and Bloody Marys.

The Med is another superb restaurant with delicious cocktails and eats. The Mediterranean spot is known for its tapas and wood-fired pizza, as well as its impressive cocktail menu, which currently includes the Athens Spritz—a blood orange, pomegranate mimosa with Aperol liqueur.
Café Aion also serves up tapas and seasonal treats. Special brunch offerings include poached eggs with creamy polenta, tomato ragu, and oatmeal topped with warm spiced fruit compote.
Inspired by France’s Provence cuisine, Mateo is another popular dining spot in the city. Its brunch menu includes eggs Florentine, Croque Madame, as well as fresh brioche toast with strawberry preserves and Lavazza coffee.
For moms who follow a vegan or vegetarian diet Leaf is the perfect place for brunch. The restaurant serves a variety of creative veggie plates, including ricotta beignets with lemon curd, huevos rancheros with either eggs or organic tofu, as well as vegan French toast.
Located in the North Boulder countryside on Foothills Highway, The Greenbriar Inn offers delicious food in a beautiful setting, and it will be serving both brunch and dinner on Mother’s Day. From 10-2:30pm, you can celebrate with the Champagne Brunch Buffet for $39/person, which includes unlimited champagne and sparkling cider. Dinner starts at 6pm and will feature Greenbriar Inn’s seasonal a la carte menu.
Movie Date with Mom
Moms who are film buffs will enjoy a trip to Cinebarre. Located in Louisville off highway 36, the 18+ over movie theater always features a good selection of new indie flicks and blockbuster releases. Cinebarre features a full bar and kitchen, along with tabled seating in its theaters, allowing patrons to eat and drink as they enjoy the show.
Picnic at Chautauqua Park

For those who would prefer to spend the day outdoors, a picnic at Chautauqua Park is a fantastic way to spend Mother’s Day. You can pack your own picnic basket or pick up a delectable lunch box from Cured. Its picnic options for two are the $40 “Stolen Hour” and the $55 “Backcountry Picnic.” The Stolen Hour includes 3 different cheese selections, salami, homemade fig jam, crackers, and an artisanal chocolate bar by Poco Dolce. The Backcountry Picnic comes with even more cheese, salami, and crackers, as well as Marcona almonds, apples, and 2 freshly baked cookies. Either package will help you create a delightful picnic spread at Chautauqua for your Mom or Wife, where you can soak up the sun and the views.
Whether you’re hoping to enjoy a good meal or attend a special event, there are numerous ways to spend Mother’s Day in Boulder. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter how you decide to celebrate as long as you take the time to show your love and gratitude to the moms who have helped shape you.
