Boulder’s Best Spots for Super Bowl Sunday

On February 2nd, our beloved Broncos will set foot on MetLife Stadium and take on the Seattle Seahawks for Super Bowl XLVIII.  Naturally, our team will be counting on us to celebrate and cheer them on the best way we know how.   That means, good company, great food, and even better local, craft beers.  We’ve saved you the hassle and have found the hottest places to be on Super Bowl Sunday.

Viewing Parties

Shine Restaurant & Gathering Place

If you’re in the mood for a more unusual Super Bowl Sunday experience, then Shine Restaurant & Gathering Place might just be the place for you to be. Shine Restaurant is hosting a paleo inspired Super Bowl Party for all to attend. Guests will have the opportunity to explore paleo dishes while watching the game.  The menu includes wings, tacos, sliders, fries, house-brewed beer, and even organic juices.  If an out-of-the-box experience with healthy eating alternatives is what you’re looking for, Shine is definitely the place to be.

Watching the big game at a local brewery sounds like an excellent way to spend Super Bowl Sunday, don’t you think?  After all, local craft beers and the Broncos are two of Colorado’s proudest assets.  This year, Twisted Pine will be hosting their own game-day, featuring $10 pitchers and savory snacks. Their six flat screen TV’s will ensure that each guest has a view of the game.  So bring your friends and spend the evening drinking delicious local beers in good company (but drink responsibly, of course!).

Dickens Opera House

Longmont’s Dickens Opera House is hosting not just a Super Bowl Party, but a fundraiser supporting the Pro Swing Softball team as well.  Guests can enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet while watching the game on an impressive, thirty-foot movie screen.  With a screen that big, it will practically feel like you’re at the stadium.  The event begins at 3:45, and tickets are $20 for this experience.  All donations will go towards supporting Pro Swing Softball.

More Bars Please!

The Lazy Dog is one of Boulder’s most popular sports bars, and has been a favorite game day spot for locals.  They’ve got an impressive and affordable menu loaded with game day favorites, and a great beer selection.  This is the place to be for anyone on a budget looking for a fun place to watch the game.

If the Lazy Dog isn’t your scene, don’t fret.  The West End Tavern has some of the best wings in town, and is a great place to watch the Broncos crush the Seahawks.  The Tavern has an excellent selection of local craft beers, but their bourbon options will blow you away.  So for all the bourbon lovers in town, this hot spot is definitely where you want to watch the game.

Last, but certainly not least is Boulder’s favorite dive bar: Dark Horse.  There’s never a dull moment here – especially when tricycles are involved.  And, Super Bowl Sunday will be no exception.  With 20 HDTVs, a 120-inch HD big screen and a 72-inch big screen, you won’t have a problem watching the game, no matter where you’re sitting.  Enjoy discounted booze and burgers while you cheer on the Broncos!

Super Bowl Sunday is a day best spent with friends, good beer, and delicious food. This year, the Broncos will need all of our support and positive energy as they take on the Seahawks, so be sure to find a fun place to watch the game!
