Arch11
Arch11 has studios in Boulder and Denver, and this incredible team is known for its iconic work on my clients’ home, Vergence House and Dartmouth Residence (among many others). This firm believes that design should encompass all four tenants of architectural desires, including shelter, pleasure, function, and beauty. I’ve certainly seen firsthand that Arch11 goes above and beyond in fulfilling these commitments.
Studio B
I love the connection that Studio B forges between architecture and interiors. This studio specializes in inspired modern design, complemented by a sense of adventure. This team places a high priority on collaboration and innovation, so it’s no surprise that the results are fantastic. If you’re going for a minimalist aesthetic with an emphasis on sustainability, Studio B is definitely a firm to reach out to. For example, my client’s project, Vista Drive Pavillion (located at 3355 Vista Drive), has been featured by Dwell and Dezeen.
Tumu Studio
Tumu Studio is owned by Huili Feng and Ross Barney. Both founders have storied, award-winning careers and have worked on projects ranging from international high-rises offices to residential settings. As a full-service firm, Tumu Studio handles architecture, interiors, and custom furniture. With offices in Boulder and Chicago, this prestigious team is known for the Foothills Residence in Boulder and Sheridan Rd. Residence in Winnekta, IL.
FLOWER architecture
I love FLOWER architecture’s approach to modern design. This firm’s motto alone says it all: “Make it Useful / Make it Beautiful / Make it Last.” Based in Boulder, FLOWER architecture has received plenty of press for the stunning work produced by its team (including a feature on the cover of Modern in Denver).
Index AD
Index AD is one of the best-kept secrets in Boulder. Owner and founder Brad Burch keeps a low profile, connecting with new clients mainly through word of mouth. If you love quiet, sublime modern and want to learn more about working with Index AD, I can provide further details.
Levitt Architects
David Levitt founded and leads Levitt Architects, which has offices in Boulder and Los Angeles. This firm specializes in modern residential architecture, with an emphasis on bringing the outdoors in and striking a balance between modernity and warmth. The Garden House in Boulder is one of my favorite projects by Levitt Architects. This home also received an honorable mention from the Colorado Chapter of the American Institute of Architects in 2017.
I love living and working in Boulder, in no small part because our city is bursting with artistic architecture. The firms highlighted here are among the best in the world, and I find each particularly inspiring.
