The Boulder International Film Festival takes place March 13th through 16th. In its 21st year, this festival unites filmmakers and film watchers for a four-day cinematic celebration of the movies that move us. It showcases films from Boulder filmmakers as well as those from across the nation and all over the globe. Here’s what you need to know before you go:

The Boulder International Film Festival attracts an average of 25,000 people per year. Participants and patrons are scriptwriters, producers, directors, actors, actresses, industry CEOs, media personalities, and cinephiles. If you love the seduction of the silver screen, this is a golden opportunity to experience it up close and personal.
Four Days of Fab Film
The Boulder International Film Festival is a four-day event that features a variety of films, from under-the-radar indies to films that go on to achieve Oscar nominations; MovieMaker Magazine even named it one of the “25 Coolest Film Festivals.” A handful of the celebrities who have attended in the past include Jesse Eisenberg, Javier Bardem, Shirley MacLaine, Alan Arkin, William H. Macy, Emilio Estevez, and Martin Sheen.
While film is the focus, that’s not all this festival is about. Opening night galas, talented musical acts, world-class meals, and industry happy hours complement cinematic adventure and provide a well-rounded experience.
Tickets and Events
The festival starts with an opening night at Hotel Boulderado and Rembrandt Yard, including parties featuring food and wine, live music, and local craft beers. Following the parties is a screening of The Friend, starring Naomi Watts and Bill Murray.
Another noteworthy event is CineCHEF, a culinary extravaganza and festival favorite that explores Boulder’s local foods and hunger heritage.
