It’s almost that time of year again–Rocky Mountain Equality proudly presents the 2024 GAYLA. This event welcomes our community each year to enjoy an evening of connection, celebration, and entertainment. This year’s schedule of events is especially exciting, so you won’t want to miss out. Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s GAYLA:
When and Where
The GAYLA will occur on September 21st from 4:00-10:00 pm at Embassy Suites in Boulder. Both general admission and VIP tickets are available now, so be sure to purchase yours ASAP. All attendees can enjoy the evening’s entertainment, including the live auction and a surprise appearance by a special guest. VIP ticket holders will have access to the complimentary premium bar, five entries to the heads or tails drawing, one entry to the VIP-only drawing, and a spot at the keynote speaker meet and greet.
What to Expect
The GAYLA is always a treat, but it’s much more than a fun time. Since freedom to marry is on the ballot in Colorado this year, we must support this incredible local nonprofit. Jim Obergefell will be the guest speaker to highlight the importance of marriage equality. In case you’re not familiar with Mr. Obergefell, he became a self-described “accidental activist” after he found himself in the role of caregiver as his longtime partner battled ALS. After they decided to marry, Jim brought their case to the Supreme Court. The result of Obergefell vs. Hodges was a landmark win for marriage equality. Now, Jim is a purposeful activist championing human rights for all. In addition to powerful talks by Jim and others, the GAYLA will feature top-notch entertainment and exciting auctions and drawings.
