During his presidential tenure, President Ronald Reagan declared July as national ice cream month. We don’t need any other excuse to visit a Boulder staple – Sweet Cow Ice Cream – and get a double scoop of our favorite flavors. For a post-hike reward, family bike ride destination, or date night treat, Sweet Cow has exactly what’s needed.
A Community Gathering Space
Sweet Cow knows it has a good thing going with its fresh, house-made ice cream, high-quality ingredients, and friendly staff members. It’s also clear that the company’s ethos centers on more than just dessert. With six locations in and around Boulder, the ice cream shop has become so much more to each community it resides in.
The outdoor patio acts as a gathering place for families, friends, and neighbors while the indoor atmosphere is colorful, lively, and always plays great tunes. Part of what makes Sweet Cow’s space so friendly is its engaging staff. Once you’ve visited your local shop a few times, the folks behind the counter start to feel like family.
Sweet Cow On the Go with the MooMobile
To really treat employees, neighbors, or friends to a special gift, book the MooMobile for your next event. For the past decade, this mobile ice cream shop has been cruising the Front Range, delivering cold, creamy dessert to hungry, happy customers. Choose from a variety of flavors and toppings, then prepare for a round of applause from party guests.
Ice Cream that Gives Back
As another way of supporting its community, Sweet Cow hosts charitable events that support various members of Boulder and the surrounding area. This July 18, the ice cream shop will hold its second annual Sophie’s Ice Cream Social. This event benefits multicentric carpotarcel osteolysis (MCTO) research and the Boulder-based nonprofit, Sophie’s Neighborhood. For every scoop of strawberry ice cream that’s ordered, Sweet Cow will donate a percentage of the proceeds.
Best Desserts in Town
In addition to creative flavors and house-churned classics, Sweet Cow has ice cream sandwiches made with delicious chocolate chip cookies. Its milkshakes have the perfect consistency and feature locally-sourced ingredients when possible. Try flavors like OZO Coffee – featuring java from the expert local roaster by the same name – fluffernutter, and vegan cookies ‘n cream. There’s a flavor for every palate at Sweet Cow.
We’ve certainly enjoyed watching this local ice cream shop grow and expand over the years. Sweet Cow is an integral part of what makes Boulder so great. Stop by after your next trail run, we guarantee you won’t regret it.
