There’s a podcast for every occasion, from commuting to exercising to in-home entertainment, so it’s not surprising that 2016 saw an explosion in podcasts’ popularity. We’re happy to see that many Boulder-based podcasters are getting in on the trend. Here are some of our favorite locally-based podcasts you need to add to your playlist:
If you’re interested in plant-based nutrition, athletic performance, environmental sustainability, or want to think more critically about food, you’ll love the Thought for Food Podcast. Hosted by health enthusiasts Aaron Stuber and Jackson Long, the podcast aims to improve the health of humans, animals, and the planet through a plant-based lifestyle. Jackson, a vegan endurance athlete, studied integrative physiology at the University of Colorado Boulder, and now examines the link between exercise and nutrition for healthy living. Aaron is a fellow vegan long-distance runner, as well as a certified health and nutrition coach, cardiovascular nurse, and entrepreneur. Together, they help listeners discover optimal health and well-being through diet and exercise. Recent episodes include, “What’s the Deal with Iron?,” “Sandi Nypaver and Sage Canaday on Athlete Empowerment and Listening to the Body,” and “How to Stay Happy and Healthy During the Holidays.”
Fans of local comedy and aspiring comics alike will love this engaging and hilarious show hosted by Denver/Boulder comics Cody Spyker and Jacob Rupp. Since the podcast’s debut in July 2015, it has welcomed a slew of Denver’s funniest comedians in their studio beneath CU Boulder’s University Memorial Center. They even sat down with Amy Schumer! If you can’t catch this comedy chat show live on Radio 1190 every Wednesday from 7-8p.m., check it out the next day as a podcast.
