With New Year’s Eve around the corner, now’s the time to start planning your night on the town. Every year, we search for the perfect party or event to help us ring in 2016. From the hustle and bustle of attending a fireworks display, to the luxurious dinner parties along Pearl Street, here are a few great ways to participate in the action this NYE. Grab your jacket, pack some hot chocolate, and enjoy a memorable start to 2016 with your closest friends and family.
Parties
The two most anticipated parties in the Boulder area take place at St Julien Hotel and Spa, and the Hotel Boulderado. Kicking off along Pearl Street, both events offer great food and live entertainment to round out the night.
St Julien Hotel and Spa
The beautiful St Julien Hotel and Spa, located in downtown Boulder, is hosting one of the night’s top New Year’s Eve parties. Called “Dance the Night Away,” you can expect plenty of live music as you celebrate the beginning of 2016. Headlined by Hazel Miller, this is sure to be one party that rocks Pearl Street all night long. The festivities are rounded out with champagne for guests, as well as a live ball drop to mark the final moments of 2015.
Hotel Boulderado
If you love theme parties and dressing up, Hotel Boulderado’s Masquerade Gala is for you. Don’t forget to wear your favorite mask, and be ready to spend hours of endless fun on the dance floor as you await the countdown. Plenty of meal options from their popular buffet to more private settings can accommodate any of your dining needs. Dressed in Black and Milestone will be the main entertainment for the night, treating guests to a variety of great music.
Fireworks
Boulder isn’t planning a major fireworks display this year, so your best bet is to watch the main event in Denver. Here are a few ways to enjoy the show:
16th Street Mall
Denver’s premiere New Year’s Eve fireworks display, the 16th Street Mall provides everything you could ask for in a celebration. The hundreds of shops, restaurants, and hotels in the LoDo area offer everything you need for an overnight stay (or just a quick visit). The event has two options at different times of the day. The earlier event is ideal for anyone with young children who can’t stay up late enough to watch the show. The later time is also great, with an infectious atmosphere that’s fun for the whole family. If you want to extend your night, head downtown for the local nightlife scene.

Lookout Mountain
Searching for something a bit more private? Check out Lookout Mountain – you won’t be disappointed. The jaw dropping view of Denver that helped this spot earn its name is magnified with the numerous fireworks extravaganzas going off around the city. From this location, you’ll be able to see every major show throughout the metro area, an unforgettable experience to say the least. Sometimes, all you want is a quiet afternoon with your loved ones, away from the crowds. Coming here brings you the best of both worlds: solitude without compromising on the experience.
ViewHouse
A great in-between option that offers both the views and the opportunity to socialize in a more established setting is the New Year’s Eve party at ViewHouse. Being a ticketed event, you’ll enjoy the smaller crowds compared to the 16th Street Mall. Thanks to the location of this Denver staple, you’ll also have one of the best seats in the city for watching the main fireworks display. The night offers live music, in addition to a full five-course prix fixe dinner. With multiple dance floors and plenty of drinks flowing all night long, you’ll start 2016 off with a bang.
Whether you prefer experiencing New Year’s Eve with all of downtown Denver, or would rather attend a party closer to home, there are plenty of options. What’s your plan this New Year’s Eve? Share with us in the comments below!
