It’s that time of year again! Cast your votes and help select the best that Boulder has to offer. I have a few favorite places that I can’t help but brag about. Here they are!
Bakery & Grocery Store: Lucky’s Market, Bakehouse & Creamery
Tucked away in North Boulder, Lucky’s Market is hands down, my favorite grocery store in the area. Every time I shop there, I’m guaranteed to leave with the finest local produce and traditionally crafted foods in town. And, Lucky’s is more than just a grocery store; there’s a bakery, liquor store, and even a creamery, offering patrons a variety of deliciously handcrafted desserts. My favorite aspect of Lucky’s is that it’s locally owned (that we know of). This wonderful business will always get my Best of Boulder vote.
Furniture: Design Within Reach
DWR has a fantastic selection of iconic, modern furniture. Located right downtown, their storefront window is always appealing to the eye. Unlike some stuffy furniture stores, the staff at DWR encourages you to linger and lounge on any piece that catches your eye – talk about hospitality! The best part about Design Within Reach is that everything they sell is in stock. That’s right, you’ll never have to wait for anything to be shipped, you can take it home that day.
Place to Play Pool: Sundowner
The Sundown Saloon is the best dive-bar around, and I mean that in the most flattering way possible. Well-priced drinks, pool tables, and even a dartboard – all paired with great music and even better company. The Sundowner is my go-to spot if I’m looking to have a memorable night out.

Sushi Restaurant: Japango
Who would have thought – amazing sushi in Colorado can be found at Japango! This is my pick for best sushi in Boulder. If you haven’t tried it, you’re missing out on exquisite Japanese cuisine that also happens to be very romantic. The service & ambiance brings people back again and again.
Moving Company: Organization & Relocation
Organization & Relocation is a moving company unlike any other. O&R doesn’t just provide moving services, but they provide full organizational services as well. No matter how simple or complex your needs are, this company will meet them while providing a relaxed, stress-free experience.

Florist: Fiori Flowers
Whenever I’m in need of a bouquet or floral arrangement, I head straight over to Fiori. Their arrangements are stunning and they are always consistent. Their stylish eye is always up to date with the most modern trends. No matter what you’re looking for – from simple bouquets to lavish wedding arrangements – Fiori will not disappoint you.
Farm: Frog Belly
Restoring the bond between people, food, and nature – that’s the mission of Frog Belly Farm. And let me tell you, they’re doing it right. Frog Belly provides educational opportunities for the little ones, as well as private and public events. Their livestock is always grass fed, producing some of the tastiest meat in the region. Their produce, milk, and eggs are all local and organic. They even offer a skin care line!
Chocolatier: Piece, Love & Chocolate
Piece, Love & Chocolate is out-of-this-world amazing. Their world-class chocolate products are filled with the boldest and most delicious flavors you could imagine. Aside from chocolates, they offer fabulous confections, bon-bons, and pastries too. Is your sweet tooth getting restless yet?
Liquor Store: Boulder Wine Merchant

Boulder Wine Merchant is more than just a place to buy some booze. Their experienced staff is always eager to educate, enlighten, and influence your shopping experience to the best of their abilities.
Dry Cleaners: Plaza Cleaners
Any time I need something dry-cleaned I head right over to Plaza Cleaners. The service is always excellent, and they take the best care of all the garments they receive. I wouldn’t trust my dry cleaning with anyone else.
Trust me when I say that these places are truly some of Boulder’s most shining gems. Friendly staff, excellent service, and a memorable experience are important factors for each and every one of these spots. Give them a try and tell me what you think.
