Whether you’re a Boulder resident or just passing through, Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA) is a must-visit. Founded in 1972, this gallery features regional, national, and international artists while also inspiring and educating the community. The programming and exhibitions here are incredible! If you’re interested in stopping by, here’s a quick overview of exhibitions through the end of 2026:
Mila Garcia: Entre Raices
Mila Garcia’s Entre Raices will be at Aurora Central Library and Hoffman Library until this October. This exhibition features large-scale drawings that evoke the sense of in-betweenness that the artist experienced from the different places she called home. It’s a playful and confident work with a larger-than-life presence. You won’t want to miss it! Explore the details here.
Nikki Pike: YES
Nikki Pike’s YES will be on view at BMoCA until November 2027. Her earlier phrase, Yes Means Yes, has been stripped down to a simpler form: YES, spelled out in steel. The artist created this piece as a response to where we currently find ourselves, in a moment of alienation and division. This work is designed as an antidote to xenophobia and as a call to action to return to our roots of welcoming. Learn more about the sculpture here.
Lilian Lara: Liminal Courtyard
Liminal Courtyard by Lilian Lara will be on display until December 4, 2026, at the Adams County Human Services Building in Westminster. This exhibition represents home as more than just where we are physically: it’s safety, memory, and heritage. Lara aims to demonstrate that the emotions of a space are what truly matter, as the tangible parts can be lost. Stop by and reminisce in this transitional realm! Details are available here.
Kevin Oehler: Uncanny Ecologies
Kevin Oehler’s Uncanny Ecologies is available until December 13, 2026, at Frasier Retirement Community in Boulder. This curated selection of drawings and paintings examines the shifting boundaries of our world’s systems and the imagination. The artist spent 18 years as an interpretive exhibit designer for natural history museums, an experience that influenced his visual language. You can learn more about Uncanny Ecologies here.
