This year’s Passover and Easter holidays are a time to come together with loved ones and celebrate connection, community, and new beginnings. Fortunately, Boulder offers a variety of services for both holidays that individuals may enjoy virtually or in person. Here are local Passover and Easter celebrations to attend this spring.
Virtual Shabbat Morning Service
When: 3/27, 9:30am – 12pm
Where: Boulder JCC, virtual
Celebrate this holy Jewish holiday with a morning service at congregation Bonai Shalom. This day of rest is made even more special because of Passover. Gather with this Jewish community to commemorate one of the most significant events in the Israelites history – the exodus from Egypt. This annual tradition is one of hope and provides an uplifting event for all.
Burning Man-Ischewitz
When: 3/27 & 3/28, 5pm
Where: Jewbelong,org, virtual
The Seder meal is one of the most celebrated rituals of Passover. It kicks off the 8-day holiday by bringing families and friends together at home, for a meaningful dinner party. This virtual Seder will include traditional Hebrew songs, history behind the menu items, and so much more.
Egg Hunt and Block Party
When: 4/3, 3:30 – 5:30pm
Where: Holiday Park
Join the folks at City Church in Boulder for a socially-distanced, outdoors egg-stravaganza. Over 2,000 eggs will be hidden around the park and different ‘hunts’ broken out according to age group. This activity is fun for the whole family and can help those feeling especially isolated to get outside, meet positive people, and enjoy this hopeful season.
Outdoor Easter Service
When: 4/4, 12:30pm
Where: Unity Church
To say this past year has been a struggle would be an understatement. However, springtime brings optimism and a chance to step into a new season of life. Unity Church is offering a safe, outdoor gathering for those wishing to celebrate Easter in person. The service will be live-streamed starting at 11am with the outdoor gathering kicking off at 12:30pm. A complimentary brunch served on site will follow the service.
Both of these treasured holidays are about coming together in community to celebrate wonderful events. Now more than ever, Boulder needs to remember that we are stronger together.
