It’s that time of year again – cooler weather, pumpkin spiced lattes, and one of Boulder’s favorite traditions: Fall Fest 2015. Hosted by Downtown Boulder, join the community on Pearl Street Friday – Sunday, September 18, 19 and 20, and celebrate what makes our city so great during this three-day festival. With everything from live music to an arts & crafts showcase, there’s plenty to do.
Here are five reasons why this year’s Fall Fest is a can’t-miss event:
It’s Totally Free
You heard me. One of fall’s favorite events is completely free to enter. The coolest part about the free admission is that all concerts are included for everyone who stops by. Come and go as you please, and attend as many performances as you want without having to pay a penny. Bring the family and watch some local up and comers on stage. There will even be some bigger-name bands, like Chain Station and The Reminders.
The 14th Street Children’s Carnival
Held in conjunction with the festival, the 14th Street Children’s Carnival is a great opportunity to treat the kids to a super memorable weekend. They can play in the obstacle course, a giant slide, a bounce house, and more. There will also be a face painting booth, so your little ones can be turned into the superheroes and princesses they’ve always dreamed of. Admission to this area does have a separate fee, but at $1 per ride ticket, and $15 for an unlimited Friday pass, it’s definitely worth it.
Phenomenal Artists and Craftsmen
A definite highlight of Fall Fest is the arts & crafts fair. Artists, sculptors, jewelers, and more are here to show off their trade and share some of their favorite pieces with the Boulder community. It’s a great chance to admire the work of local standouts, and to discover up-and-comers. Buy a new shirt at one of the clothing booths, or spring for a unique, new conversation piece for your home from one of the many painters or photographers. What makes this part of Fall Fest so special is all of the different options in crafting and artistic styles you’ll be able to choose from at the fair.

Location is Unbeatable
Located at the Pearl Street Mall, Fall Fest is as convenient as it gets. There’s something unique and special about the red brick walkways and the dozens of local storefronts that line the streets. Throw in views of the flatirons, and the unmistakable Boulder culture we all know and love… and you’ve got a winning combination.
Good Selection of Food & Drink
It’s hard to beat all of the good food and drink available at this year’s festival. If you love great beer, you’ll be happy to know that there’s a Beer Garden featuring national brands, as well as local hot spots like Avery Brewing. If you’re looking for something a little stronger, enjoy a margarita from the Rio Grande. The food here is nothing to scoff at, either. Traditional fair food is sprinkled in with fast-casual favorites like Boulder Bowls and Falafel King. Come hungry, because there’s a lot to love about this year’s offerings.
Whether you’re an art or a music lover, a family with kids or just treating yourself to a night out, Fall Fest 2015 is the perfect way to spend a September weekend. Join our community in welcoming the new season, and have a great time doing it! From being a convenient location to having a variety of things to do, this year’s festivities are definitely a can’t-miss.
