Meditation is proven to be one of the best practices for both your mental and physical health. While adopting it into your daily routine is beneficial, participating in a full-on meditation retreat will offer the chance to deepen your practice and learn more about this cleansing, self-work. Here are some meditation retreats in and around Boulder slated for this summer and fall.
Shambhala Training IV: Awakened Heart Hybrid
When: 7/8 – 7/10
Where: Boulder Shambhala Center
This Shambhala Training IV is for students who have previously taken the preceding Shambhala training and are looking to build upon their current knowledge. Shambhala training is crafted to help participants more fully participate in the world during daily lived experiences. This type of meditation and training teaches participants how to better show up in the world without hope and fear.
StarHouse Mysteries
When: 8/19 – 8/20
Where: The StarHouse
Meditation masters David and Lila Tresemer invite students to explore deep mysteries of the StarHouse. For those looking to deepen their relationship to this Temple and to learn more about the Western tradition of esotericism, the StarHouse Mysteries retreat is a wonderful opportunity. Cultivate practices that help you move from “I” to “We”, from “self-realization to earth-realization”.
Meditate and Hike
When: Every Saturday, 8 – 10am
Where: Location TBD
Hosted by ShambhavAnanda Eldorado Yoga, these Saturday morning practices give Boulderites the chance to connect with each other, themselves, and mother nature. While technically not a meditation retreat, incorporating these into a monthly schedule can allow you to fit meditation work into your daily life. Drop-ins are welcome and hikes are easy. There’s no reason not to unplug from the world and plug in to nature.
Meditation Teacher Training
When: 9/25 – 10/1
Where: Shoshoni Yoga
What better way to deepen your meditation practice than by learning how to teach others to utilize this enlightening tool? The ShambhavAnanda Shoshoni Center is located in Rollinsville, giving you a great excuse to getaway for the week and zen out in Colorado’s beautiful mountains. Expand your own knowledge while connecting with fellow meditation practitioners during this gentle meditation teacher training.
Self-care is important work, and Boulder gives its residents the chance to expand their perspectives, broaden horizons, and dig deep to uncover a more meaningful existence. Meditation is an approachable, gentle way to learn more about the self and cultivate an inner harmony that you can spread outward into the world.
