
As spring quickly turns to summer, we look ahead at some exciting activities happening throughout our beautiful city. Memorial Day provides the chance to relax with loved ones, enjoy the great outdoors, and celebrate our country’s heroes who have given their lives during military service. Here are some events and activities we are most looking forward to.
Lobster Pot Patio Pop-Up
When: 5/28 – 5/29, 4 – 9pm
Where: Hotel Boulderado
Enjoy fresh lobster on the patio of Boulder’s historic Hotel Boulderado. It will certainly feel like summertime with fresh seafood and live music by George Nelson Band. After a long day in the mountains, treat yourself to a Maine lobster roll, decadent crab legs, and more. Reserve a space beforehand to ensure you can get a table at this popular event.
BOLDER on the Run 10k
When: 5/29 – 5/31, race times vary
Where: multiple locations
The BOLDERBoulder is usually the year’s most anticipated 10k, attracting tens of thousands of people to our city to race in an epic adventure. This year, the race will take place but in a different format to ensure participants’ safety. Sign up for a race slot and location around Boulder County, then arrive on race day to participate in a smaller-scale run. Each mini-race is sure to deliver just as much enthusiasm and fun so find a funky costume and lace up those running shoes.
Yoga at Chautauqua
When: 5/30, 9am
Where: Auditorium Terrace
Join experienced yoga teacher Sandi Higgins (E-RYT / YACEP) for a morning Ashtanga session. Ashtanga yoga is often considered the original power yoga and one class with Sandi will certainly show you why. She leads yogis through power poses, offering insightful clues that allow us to enjoy and analyze our breath and body as it moves through the practices.
Boulder Creek Festival Summer Sundays
When: 5/30, 10am – 4pm
Where: Civic Area Park
Throughout the summer, Summer Sundays offer a chance for Boulder residents to experience the annual Boulder Creek Festival on a weekly basis. Shop from local vendors and artisans for eclectic gifts, personal care products, clothing, and more. Enjoy a food truck lunch in the grass lawn and catch up with the community.
Memorial Day Hat Tournament
When: 5/31, 10am – 3pm
Where: Sandstone Ranch Community Park
Join Grassroots Ultimate Frisbee for its first tournament of the year. Teams of all experience levels are welcome to participate in this exciting outdoor tournament. Meet other ultimate frisbee enthusiasts, hang outdoors and spectate, or find a team to join for the next tournament. Proceeds go to benefit Mental Health Partners and spots fill up fast, so sign your team up here soon.
Memorial Day weekend is always a good time in sunny Boulder, Colorado. It will certainly feel great to get outside and hangout with the community again. We can’t wait to see what else this summer has in store.
